I ordered this for my mum to use (she'd been finding lugging a traditional vacuum up and down stairs a bit challenging). I had initially been tempted by the Gtech Air Ram - on the strength of the product description, Press and customer reviews - but my dad objected to the price. This seemed like the ideal compromise. My initial impressions of this weren't entirely favourable. The sweeper arrives partially assembled in a box smaller than that of many a netbook: which was a little disconcerting. In addition, the Gtech Sweeper (in particular the three-part handle) is somewhat flimsy feeling. It's so very light and easy to put together that I found myself questioning whether this would work/last at all. I needn't have worried. Once I (and then my parents) got past our initial preconceptions of what to expect in a rechargeable carpet sweeper, we discovered that this is certainly sufficiently robust for everyday home use AND surprisingly powerful. The GTech Sweeper does a great job of cleaning up pet hair: my parents' Black and Tan dachshund and cream carpet are not an enviable combination, but it's so easy to whip round with this that the dog hair situation is kept under reasonable control! An unexpected positive was that this arrived with some initial charge, so the sweeper could be tested straight away. It's not all plain sailing: because this has a rotating sweeper brush at the front long hair and other lengthier threads if caught tend to wrap around the rotating brush section and get stuck (ultimately requiring liberation via scissors). The collection drawer is quite small and requires frequent emptying. However, these are minor issues when taken against how nice, light, easy to use and effective this is at the price point. Would I buy it again? Possibly not, but only because this has proven to be such a nice, neat simple device to use. Instead, I'd give serious consideration to buying its enhanced-feature sibling, the GTech Air Ram. And my dad, who wasn't prepared to consider buying the Air Ram... has since had me buy him a GTech cordless strimmer, having gained so much respect for the brand!

Bought this for mum whose old one had broken. She loves this hoover as it is very lightweight, compact and picks up dirt well on both carpets and floors. The battery lasts well and recharges easily. I am going to have her old one as spares can be purchased online and think it can be repaired. Very versatile machine with good suction and value for money, especially if you have limited storage space, limited mobility or need a very lightweight machine.

This is a great little piece of equipment that surprised me on how efficient it is.Picks up the tiniest of dust particles which normally get swept over with an ordinary broom.After charging first time I went over all my floors for a trial run.I could not believe how much dust it picked up from my ceramic tiled floors in just a few minutes.So light and easy to handle it makes doing the floors a doddle and so much quicker not having to plug in.......just switch on and go. I have not given five stars as I tend to agree with earlier reviews I did read before buying. When it comes to charging for use the directions are not really specific A first charge of 16 hours is recommended which is usual for a first time use of a product and then it is all rather vague.Do not know if it has to be put on charge after each use and have no way of knowing when fully charged.It warns not to over charge the battery but there is no indicator as to how much life is still in the battery to know how long to re charge it for. I am still a new user of this great little sweeper and would appreciate any tips from long term users on this issue. All in all it will get plenty of use as it really does do a good job but I would like to feel more confident about when to charge and for how long.

Very nice floor/ carpet cleaner ,does a great job even got up all the dogs hairs I would recommend this item the only problem that I had was there wasn't a charger plug in the box I went onto Amazon to see if I could complain and get a charger sent to me,but it only gave me option to return item stating missing part,so I went onto Gtech to order a plug it states free delivery on website but when you go to check out it charges you for delivery £12.99 + £3.99;delivery total £16.99 in all and that was the cheapest delivery price,so be aware this item might come with no charger, but like I said GREAT LITTLE ITEM.

This is the second of these little G-tech carpet sweepers that I have purchased on behalf of my elderly mum. The first lasted 7 years which is amazing considering she uses it everyday! Small, lightweight yet upright. I bought her another brand of stick hoover where the dust collector was just below handle, but it was way to heavy and cumbersome for an 88yr old frail person. The only issue I had was on its arrival and on unpacking I discovered that the charger was missing from components. The box was sealed (perforated strip) and all plastic tags in place, so O soon realised this was a G-Tech assembly line issue and called thwm directly. Customer service excellent and replacement in post as I type this long winded review....apologies! Basically - 5* for the Gtech and customer service and 5* for Amazon for quick delivery!

Bought for daily sweeps as I have limited mobility, sow anted something very lightweight and easy to use. It looks great, is lightweight and was a really good deal. However, on first use, I realized that on pushing forward, it lifts slightly, which was annoying. Then on emptying, found that the dust container was a) difficult to remove 4/5 times, and b) was not covered - so I got a face full of dust when it had to be pulled out with some force. I am allergic to dust, and had concerns that too much force would break it sooner rather than later. Other reviews say it was easy, so maybe there is a knack to it? Anyway, it then turned out that once put together, the handle does not come apart for repacking, so be sure you want it, before you assemble it. I did not try the stairs bit, as it seemed redundant if I was going to struggle emptying it, but it might be a tad awkward for anyone with Arthritis, Fibromyalgia or other grip issues. Probably a great bit of kit for whizzing around quickly if you have no problems as above.

We've only been using this for 7 weeks and in that time, it's had multiple faults. - The plastic handle at the top keeps coming off, even when taped down, because the plastic piece that is supposed to hold it to the metal rod has broken off - I believe this is a commonly reported fault, so not specific to my particular sweeper. - The handle also keeps coming out of the attachment to the sweeper body. It's designed supposedly to lever back and forth to make the sweeper easy to maneouevre, but poor design and quality results in the mechanism allowing the handle to fall out constantly - There is a small side brush mechanism - this has now started to fall off consistently, again because the mechanism to clip this into the sweeper body is poorly designed and constructed - The sweeper seems to emit air as the brushes turn, so if there is a piece of rubbish which is light (e.g. onion skin or flower petal), instead of picking up the piece, the sweeper simply blows it ahead of it This was bought to replace a basic Bissell sweeper, which doesn't seem to be available any more. The latter was significantly cheaper, but worked much better to pick up rubbish, was lighter and easier to maneoeuvre and didn't keep falling apart. I only had to replace it after four years. I've only given two stars because the battery life is good and it charges quickly.

Nice and light, this was bought for a disabled person who can't push a heavy cleaner around. Works very well and he's pleased at how clean the carpets are. Easy to empty too

It's a Shark. What more could be said? The Shark that I am replacing was 13 years old. My big Shark Rotator is also 13 years old. Still doing a great job. It's quiet, heavy enough that it doesn't bounce across the Berber carpet It picks up my Westies hair and crunchies from his treats. It's a dandy little quick pick-up machine. I highly recommend it

Lightweight turns on does a really good job I would buy again

This vacuum is not working for my needs. It makes too much noise, and it doesn’t pick up the way I expected. I mainly have dog hair, and instead of sucking it up properly, the hair just flies around when I use it. It feels like it’s blowing debris more than collecting it.

It works as a cordless vacuum and is easy to use but for the price it is not worth it. The suction is not as good as the other vacuums I've bought. It seems to be cheaply made, and the battery does not last long at all. Don't waste your money on this product. If it was about 30 dollars it would be good.
