Crochet Impkins: Over a million possible combinations! Yes, really!

If you love to crochet and you love fantasy then this book is 1,000 times for you and I highly recommend it!! This was actually my first time crocheting patterns by this designer, although I do have her Mythical Creatures book I have not actually made one yet. I can never nail down a decision for where i want to start lol! These patterns are very well written. This designer is amazing and you can trust her patterns. I did think I had made a mistake and was attaching the arm of my first on too far back. I did find the facebook group helpful for support and I also learned if I had just looked at the front I would have noticed it looked great and I had nothing to worry about. I ahve been crocheting for over 15 years now and making amigurumi regularly for at least 5, was a pattern tester for another designer for 2 years. This designer does some things with stitches I have not seen in other patterns, but it is all very well explained. I actually found it very interesting and I love it. I would say that due to the complexity of some of the stitches used this is more of an intermediate skill level or maybe advanced beginner. If you are not there yet, for sure come back to this after you gain a bit of experience. So worth it! This book will really get your creativity flowing!! At least, it did for me. There are so many options and possibilities. There are so many Impkins that I can not wait to make. It is so much fun! I've made 4 Impkins in about a week already! Highly recommend getting this book!

When it says a million possibilities, that's not an exaggeration. Megan Lapp's books are always well-written and great for beginners or more advanced stitchers. They are worth every penny! I love how it's possible to mix and match not only within the book, but if you have your own projects you're working on you can transfer ideas from the book to your own creations.

Absolutely incredible book! Patterns are well written, easy to follow, and a ton of fun to customize. Plenty of pictures as well as video links included for any tricky parts. Impkins work up surprisingly fast, probably because being able to make each one unique means there's no room for boredom. These little guys (not to even begin to mention the beautifully written, whimsical backstory/description in the beginning of the book) have completely stolen my heart! Even if you decide to make something that there may not be a specific pattern for it's easy to flip through and pick from the patterns Megan does offer to create what you're looking for - I included my "Luffykin" as an example - his straw hat is just the base of the mushroom hat! That's the beauty of "Crochet Impkins" - not only are there "Over a million possible combinations", it also inspires one to think "outside the book" to create whatever their heart desires, and the odds are pretty good that there are patterns included to help make that vision come to life.

Bought this as a gift for my adult daughter, she loves it and has made several items already. The pages are bright and colorful.

I’ve been a fan of Megan’s patterns for a very long time. I’ve even pattern tested for her! I was so excited to get this book and I have no regrets. Not only are the patterns themselves great, but the book is well written and playful, and has lots and lots of photos for inspiration and guidance. Now, if you’ve done amigurumi before, Megan’s style may have some unusual steps that you’re unused to. TRUST THE PATTERN. And if you find yourself needing a little extra help, Megan has also cultivated a fantastic FB group to help those of us with any issues, as well as a place to share our finished work. Overall this is a fantastic book and I would recommend it for advanced beginners or above, but anyone looking to pick up a crochet hook and some yarn can learn a lot from Megan!

This book is gorgeous and has tons of really adorable patterns! I love the creativity and the mix and batch style of creating individual pieces. I love it! The only reason it’s getting 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pattern language is kind of confusing- I think it’s a language thing between American and European language. I figured it out and made a cutie anyways!

My gosh, these little critters are the cutest. I think of myself as an intermediate crocheter. My first Impkin took some trial and error, but I believe an advanced beginner would have a great time with some practice. Easy to read instruction. Assembly of the creatures is fairly quick. I love the amount of combinations you can come up with. The accessories are the cherry on top for these little creatures.

Absolutely addicted to making impkins. The instructions are easy to follow and has a glossary of stitches at the front if your unsure. The possibilities are infinite and my daughte loves helping choose what accessories and details each impkin gets.

Fast and timely delivery of the two books I ordered. Great patterns and options to create your own unique little Impkin. Patterns are clear and concise , with many useful tips and photos. Would highly recommend.

Very happy with the book but sometimes the instructions are a little bit confusing when you read them for the first time. Great mix and match options to create your impkin. I customized the cape a tiny bit so I could have the ears stuck out of the hood.
