I’ve drink a lot of zero sugar energy drinks and this is one of the few I actually keep buying because the flavor is genuinely good. It’s crisp, smooth, and sweet enough to be enjoyable without crossing into that artificial, overly syrupy taste some energy drinks have. Easy to drink cold and doesn’t leave a weird aftertaste. Caffeine content feels like a good balance too. Enough energy to wake you up and get through a workout or long shift without feeling overly caffeinated. Price is probably middle of the road these days. Not the cheapest option, but worth it for the flavor alone in my opinion.

Zero sugar energy drinks usually taste like a science experiment gone wrong. This one does not. It tastes like the real thing. The flavor is smooth, slightly sweet, a little citrusy, and the carbonation level is just right. The 160mg of caffeine per 16oz can delivers a solid, clean lift without the jittery spiral you get from some competitors. The 15-pack is a great value and makes it easy to keep the fridge stocked. Cans arrive well-packaged and undamaged. If you want to keep track of freshness, there is a production date stamped on the bottom of each can. One thing to know going in: the sweetener blend uses sucralose, so if you are sensitive to artificial sweeteners you will notice it. For most people though, it is barely detectable and a non-issue. If you loved original Monster but wanted to ditch the sugar, this is the one you have been waiting for.

Monster Zero Ultra has been a great option for me. I’m diabetic, so I try to be mindful of sugar, and I really appreciate that this has zero sugar without feeling like I’m giving up the flavor I enjoy. To me, it tastes surprisingly close to the original Monster, which is exactly what I was hoping for. A lot of zero-sugar drinks have a weird aftertaste, but this one still feels smooth, refreshing, and satisfying. It gives me the energy drink flavor I like without the sugar, which makes it an easy choice when I want something that feels familiar but better fits my needs. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the original Monster taste but wants a no-sugar option.
