Burns at first but feels great for hours afterwards!
I have dry eye syndrome and I confess, this burns like a MFr for a few seconds when you first put it in - but if you just cover your eye with a pre wetted wipe it passes quickly and then your eyes feel great for hours afterwards.

Made my dry eyes worse
I had high hopes for this manuka honey eye gel after reading so many rave reviews, but those hopes were quickly dashed. I used the gel for two days and a week later my eyes are still burning worse and my vision is still blurry. The gel is very thick and sticky and kind of hard to apply. I applied the tiniest drop to the corner of my eye and just let it slowly make it's way in. Where it first contacted my eyes the eyeball became very bloodshot and still is a week later. The second it touched my eye it started to burn, pretty intensely but not intolerable. The burning lasted for about a minute. At the same time my eyes began to tear profusely. This lasted as long as the burning. After the intense burning and tearing stopped I was left with even drier eyes than before I applied the gel. They feel sticker, grittier, drier, and burn more than they ever have even still a week later.

TIPS!!
here’s some tips for manuka honey gel ( that i love very much )- it burns like a bitch and that’s normal! you will feel like you’re dying- it is thick and applying in a mirror is the best way to do it. make sure to read instructions- it should make dry eyes BETTER and sometimes people say they get worse before they get better actually.- this is a game changer for severe dry eyes. stick with it for 6+ weeks.- you can use it up to 3 times a day if you like it- if your eyes feel sticky or something, apply artificial tears before this and use it as a shield

dry eye temporary solution
Seems to helping my eyes retain moisture but burns like heck for 15-20 seconds when you first put the gel in my eye. I hope that is not causing other damage. This product has helped my eyes the best out of everything else I've tried.

You have to push through the burn!
I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews because it burns. Yes it burns, but it’s intense only for a few seconds, and they’ll stop burning after about 10 seconds. Your eyes will also get more red before they clear up within a few minutes.I have chronic dry eye from getting Lasik, and I have tried everything - expensive prescription drops, the nasal spray, eye compresses, punctual plugs, medspa heat therapies, and more. Nothing has done much at all other than this. Here’s how to use this to make it the least messy and most comfortable as possible:-Wash hands-Soak a cotton ball in cold water and squeeze it out; set it aside-Put a very small, bead-sized amount on the tip of a cotton swab-Pull down your lower lid and swipe the cotton swab along it-Close your eyes, and look up, down and around to coat them. Yes, it will burn!-With your eye still closed, take the cotton ball and press it gently against your eye to control the eye watering (otherwise it will run down your face, I’m assuming why this is people are getting sticky), soothe the eye and finally swipe it once or twice to remove any of the honey that escaped your eye.-Repeat on the other side with a new cotton ball and the other end of the cotton swab. Now I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but it’s the only thing that has worked for me. My eyes are less red overall, I don’t have to use eye drops all day every day, and the bottle lasts a long time. You barely need any product at all.I highly recommend trying this if nothing else has worked for you!
