Igloo Marine Ultra Cooler

I needed a good cool box to transport some frozen items back home from the UK. The reviews for the Igloo seemed to be just what I wanted. Rather than sing its praises I will just tell you my experience and you can make your own mind up to see if it's what you want. The task, to transport a frozen gammon and a frozen joint of beef back to my home in France. The trip overnight totalled 27 hours. The meat, well frozen, was taken out of the freezer and put into the igloo at 7:30 am. I also filled it with other chilled items from the fridge, topped with ice packs. The box was then put in the boot of the car. I didn't open again until I arrived home at 11:30 am the next day. The items were unpacked. The meat was still frozen solid and the ice packs had not melted. That is just what I wanted it to do. If thats what you are looking for buy one. I can well believe the claims made for the effectiveness of this ice box.

Fantastic cool box, keeps things chilled for days. A little pricier than most, but definitely worth the money. Kept my ice blocks frozen for 3 days whilst fishing.

Bought this for long fishing trips (3-5 days) and found that if a block of ice approx 1/4 to 1/3 of the available space is used then frozen food is kept frozen for approx 2 days and all food is kept chilled for upto 4 days without adding more ice.I built a framework of 3/4" piping covered with plastic mesh to raise the food above the melted ice water to stop the food getting wet but now use open plastic containers stacked onto the frame for more stable food stacking.The only negative is the colour.Dirt only has to glance at the box and then it has a dirty mark on it.

Pretty happy with this purchase though it was quite expensive & doesn’t keep things cold as long as the description claimed. We filled it with cold beer, ice pack & ice cubes for a festival and the beer stayed cold for about 48hrs. Handles are a bonus for carrying with 2 people.

This cool box performs brilliantly. One of the best on the market.

We take this out on camp trips in the boot of our car - with appropriate cool packs, it keeps the food cool and safe for 48 hours with repeated trips to get things out of it.Was quite the luxury to have ice for cocktails out in the middle of the highlands on day 2!

Purchased this Igloo Marine Ultra Coolbox 5 Quart and it arrived in good condition and in good time, however, I am not overly impressed with the item. It does have a front latch (in stainless steel and plastic which I required) that secures closure but the rear hinges are plastic and will no doubt split or crack or malfunction in time (stainless hinges could be found to replace these) I could not determine this at time of ordering and presumed that the rear hinges would match the front latch in stainless...lol...after all it is designed to be used in Marine conditions.The coolbox is very lightweight and strong but the walls, lid and floor seem very thin and therefore may not provide good insulation? I've not used it yet but my initial impression is that it is not worth the money I paid.Graham

Fantastic. Took camping in hot weather. Packed Saturday morning. Spent 4 days in a tent I froze water in 2 Tupperware containers and also froze milk and drinking water 24 hours later the pint of milk was still frozen solid and had to leave out of the box before I had enough melted for my coffee!! There was still ice as i returned home on Tuesday. V impressive

It’s exactly what I needed for road trips and travel! It hold temp and works great. Tough exterior, no leaks, great size, amazing price

All dimensions of these coolers are their outermost measurements to include the width of the handles or any "extremities". I tried the 70qt as it said it was 32" inches wide thinking I'd have 2" on either side. Was more like 3.75" of space on each side and the cooler would have slopped around in the gap. Then picked the 90Qt as it said 35" wide. Fits perfect under my leaning post. I added some cooler feet meant for an RTIC brand cooler to raise it up a bit to clear a floor access port, give some grip on the floor of my boat and be able to rinse anything out from under it without removing it.Just took it to the FL Keys this past weekend. 84°F the whole weekend. Threw ~30lbs of ice in bags into the cooler which only filled in ~25%. It ended up being too windy to take the boat out so I never actually used the ice but the cooler was good enough to keep some of it frozen for 3 full days which is impressive for a cooler at this price-point. This 90qt is a solid offering from Igloo.
