What does long shaft mean and do i need it on an ibanez art300

Long or or shafts refer to the pots for the volume and tone knobs. Most guitars use a short shaft but Gibson Les pauls need long shafts because of the arched maple top. If the guitar is built in the style of a Les Paul you will need long shafts.

will this kit work on a bass guitar also ?

With EMG bass pickups it should.

Will this conversion set work with a EMG 89?

If you have a dual mode pickup, you will want to order the wiring kit with Push-pull pots in order to operate the dual mode feature.

It comes with the guitar pots, and a switch and has awesome directions with a few ways to set the pickups up in your guitar depending on what style you want to play. It's the easiest and best sounding setup I've personally ever played. Deffinitly worth every penny
