Gilboys Hard Wax Oil - Food Safe Wood Finish - 500ml

The BEST hard wax oil, full stop. Great stuff. Tough as old boots, lovely deep satin finish and brings out the grain very nicely. Ive used this for a few years now - it's worth every penny. Gilboys other items are also great - leather balm in particular.

Alongside the tin of oil there was a lovely handwritten message in the package and a packet of sunflower seeds, to encourage the bees. This product was easy to use, as long as you follow instructions. I would definitely recommend and use again.

What a great product, followed the instructions and the kitchen tops look amazing. Hardly any smell and good valve for the price.

Arrived on time and was well packaged - I liked the free set of sunflower seeds that came with the wax! Worked well on our work tops in the kitchen, took me a little time to get the hang of applying it but that was more of a user problem than the product!

Very easy to use with good instructions and the finish is just what I wanted. Sunflower seeds are a nice touch, too !

If you are unsure what oil to buy this one is brilliant and worth your money, I used it to restore vintage ercol furniture and now my sideboard looks even better than with the original finish. I will absolutely buy again

The finish is superb and dries and enhances the grain of the wood. Good value for money and a real good smell

Easy to use. Doesn't smell. Made a lovely job of my teak table.

This is without a doubt the best finish I have ever used. I finished my dining room table a year ago and it is durable, beautiful and feels so natural — not "plasticky" like polyurethane. Plus minor damage can be lightly sanded and this finish can be reapplied so it looks perfect again. I just bought another can to refinish my wooden portable kitchen island whose factory finish was destroyed in "nail polish remover accident". That same damage, if it happens again on this finish, will be an easy spot repair!

Absolutely gorgeous! I had a black gel stained oak table I've had for 30 years. I sanded it off and on for two days and spent another day deciding on Hard Wax Oil. I am SO thrilled I picked this one, it was extremely easy for my husband and I to apply, only a slight smell, and it's beautiful. It won't fully cure for 7 days but so far I am thrilled with the results! And the easy to follow instructions booklet was a bonus. Here's an image of us applying it with the two table leaves.

Would have rated it 5 stars when I bought 6 months ago - just went to reorder and price has been jacked up by 50%. It’s now on par with fiddes for price and not as good. Shame. Was a great value product 6 months ago.
