As my title says, for its price point, this is excellent. It is made from aluminium, has 3 bubble levels which do not intrude at all, being flush. Provision for 3/8 and 1/4 on the base unit, which also has a 1/4 bolt which is removable. The release screw is solid and smooth in action, and it will take from 38 to 50mm, accepting my Falcam F38 easily. It's only real 'failing' is that it is not quick release, but you know that from the outset, If they also make a quick release version, I would be all over it!

The clamp is fine. I found the plate difficult to keep tight on a telescope, it repeatedly became loose.

I ordered this koolehaoda 50mm Quick Release Plate Clamp Adapter as I needed a simple way to mount my camera to a boom arm on one tripod, like the Arca assembly on my other tripod, and I wanted to be able to access my battery without having to remove the Arca plate. I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ300. It has a fundamental design flaw in that the battery door is too close to the tripod mount. Either screwed on to a traditional tripod or mounted via a quick-release Arca plate, as on my Benro Mefoto Roadtrip tripod, you can’t access the battery or SD card without taking the camera off at its tripod thread. . This Arca assembly seemed to be just what I needed, at a reasonable price. On first inspection, the overall quality significantly exceeds the low price. Everything about it is high quality, from the overall action and fit, to the rubber grip on the tightening knob. While my boom arm has a ¼”-20 thread, it is handy to have that 3/8” thread adapter for possible future accessories. . I first mounted the Arca adapter to my boom arm and confirmed that I can mount my camera safely to the boom arm in just seconds, versus having to precariously twist the whole camera around and around onto the fixed ¼” thread with the risk of dropping it. A scary operation at the best of times! The Arca plate is almost identical in form to that on the Benro tripod and works perfectly on that adapter also, as shown clamped in the attached photo. Unfortunately, the plate still covered the edge of the battery lid, just like the PU50 plate from my Benro tripod. However, lengthening the plain end of the slot allowed me to slide the plate over on the camera’s base by the needed 3 or 4 mm. As it turned out, the koolehaoda screw and its D-ring are slightly smaller than the Benro part and there’s just enough room to extend the slot and still use the D-ring. Not possible on the Benro plate. My battery compartment is now easy to open with the Arca plate installed and the plate will now be a permanent fixture on my camera for rapid mounting to both the Benro tripod and the boom arm tripod adapters. The four rubber pads on the Arca plate stop it from rotating on the camera’s single tripod screw under normal use, but of course, the plate can still slip if you inadvertently try and turn the camera when mounted on a locked tripod head. Did that, but just the once! :-( . At only $12 for the assembly, this koolehaoda 50mm Quick Release Plate Clamp Adapter is superb value. It works perfectly and upgrades any basic tripod for a rapid and solid camera mounting. . If you are looking to upgrade your tripod, or replace an existing Arca assembly, I can highly recommend this one. 😊

This is a small plate+clamp. It's what I was looking for. The clamp seems quite well made, no issues. I quite like the screw in locking for Arca clamps, having caught a sleeve on a more expensive lever type once.. This is on my travel setup, so small and light but sturdy is the metric used. Good quality. Basically identical to others on the market. The centre is nicely marked on the clamp.
