Rinna BeautyBetter Naked Iconic Eye Kit

I was really excited to try the Better Naked eye kit because I don't have any neutral eye shadows that isn't glittery/shiny and I wanted something matte and this kit included mascara and eye liner so I was doubly excited. Upon opening the package, the mirror in the eye shadow compact had fallen off. That wasn't off to a good start and then I realized why Rinna sounded familiar. It's Lisa Rinna's make-up line. LOL.I stuck the mirror back on and it's been fine since and hasn't fallen off, but it didn't leave me a good impression. They should've used a better super glue. But I gave everything a try and was pleasantly surprised. 3 of the 4 eye shadows are matte which is what I wanted and the colors are buildable and neutral and lovely. Definitely use less because a lot can come off right off the bat. The crayon is rather thick like a crayon but it's a nice medium brown color and surprisingly smooth and went on my eye lids very well. It was a lot easier to use this than my thin eye pencil. I also tried it on my eye brows and that worked well, too, but I had to comb it with a brush. The dual brush that was included is a little big/thick. I think a finer brush set would've been better. The mascara worked fine, too. All in all, this is quite a useful set.

This Better Off Naked eye kit works perfectly for me. I have hazel eyes and I’ve been struggling to find colors that work together and don’t look like I’m going out on a Saturday night. I played around with the eyeshadows and did put too much on the brush the first time. Lesson learned. It did teach me that I could build up the colors if I wanted a more made up look or use less when I just wanted to highlight my eyes.The mascara worked well. Lately, it seems like every mascara I buy is on the dry side, but this one seemed to be fresh and it defined and separated my lashes. The only thing about the liner I’m not sure about is sharpening it. The kit doesn’t have a sharpener so I’ll just have to purchase a thick crayon sharpener for this one. The double-sided brush is nice and so far I give this a 👍 These colors seem to work really well with my eyes.

The eyeshadows were so glittery it was all over my face and that was after I tapped out the brush. The eyeliner is too fat. The brush is just ok. I threw the eyeshadow set in the trash. There are better products out there.

You get a variety of items for $59, but they look and feel cheaper and boring. I thought the eyeshadow palette would be more neutral shades. I was surprised they're pink, coral, mauve. The crayon is fat, a bit dry, and the color is weak and uneven. The mascara is basic. The brushes are fine. Everything arrived in an unsealed box. There's not anything here to get excited about.

I was expecting a lot out of this set given the price point ($59 at the time of this review) and the celebrity name recognition. I ordered Smoke Show. It came with a palette of four eyeshadows, a brush, an eye pencil, and mascara. I really like the eyeshadows! They have good pigmentation and are a great color combination to create a smoky eye. They blend well and apply well. The eye pencil is okay but sort of a weird thickness. It's almost a little too fat to be a liner but not quite fat enough to be an eyeshadow pencil. It does apply smoothly. The mascara works well but I personally don't love the hourglass wand shape and found it somewhat difficult to apply. At this price point, I can get a good kit of better quality from other brands; however, I do think there is some potential here, and I can stand behind the quality of the shadows.

I do love this color collection. But was a little disappointed with the color pay off it doesn’t seem to have much pigment it blends fairly easily, but not as good as I’d like I do love the big fat black eye pencil though, and the mascara isn’t bad either.

Better Naked was a perfect choice for my conservative styling and fair complexion. The eyeshadows release generous pigmentation without being ostentatious. They glide on and blend without effort. The included two ended brush has a diagonal brush that allows you to guide the color where you want it. The shadows are encased in a compact with mirror. The brown eye pencil has a thick tip so don't count on a pencil thin line, rather it allows for a generous application in one swoop. The black mascara is in a classy square bottle. The applicator has a concave shape which is opposite what I'm used to with cheap drug store mascara, which will need a learning curve but it separated the lashes well. Overall I am very happy with this beautiful set.

I am thoroughly impressed with the pigmentation of the eye shadows in this set. They go on boldly and stay all day with minimal creasing. They contain great shimmer as well. They are definitely the key feature to this set.The shadow stick is decent, but not my favorite. I personally prefer liquid liners so my opinion is based on that. This shadow did stay in place all day without smudging, but was harder for me to apply concisely.The mascara is pretty basic mascara. It does the job without flaking or running. But nothing too overly outstanding.I removed one star due to the price, which was $59 at time of purchase. For that pricing, I expected more out of the mascara. Overall though, I am obsessed with the shadows.
