I needed an action camera for insurance purposes while on my motorcycle. After trawling through a LOT of cameras, I quickly decided that there would be no need to spend a small fortune on a camera such as a GoPro, as it’s not for recording videos for the internet to enjoy. Saying this however, I wanted to make sure the camera I got was the best it could be. What you get ===== Inside the box, there is the camera which is inside the waterproof housing, and a bunch of accessories, including a spare battery, a dual battery charger, a watch style remote, and a bunch of mounting accessories. Also included is an Instruction Booklet with various mounting methods, however the diagrams are fairly difficult to decipher, and it’s probably just as easy to rely on your initiative. Look ===== The camera itself seems very well made, all the panels fit, and it looks very tidy. It is very light too, which is a benefit for anyone looking to attach this to their helmet Video Quality ===== The image quality is fairly good, and 2.7K 30FPS seems to be the sweet spot I have found. This camera uses the SUNPLUS 6350 chipset, which is known for not recording in true 4K, which does show. The quality is not terrible, but it is far from what true 4K is. Most people though would only want to record in 1080p 60/30FPS. This is what the camera is great at doing. Card Storage ===== The camera is supposed to take up to a 32GB MicroSD card, however I have tried with a 64GB card and not had any real issues. I initially tried using a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I which worked, however I was only able to record in 1080p 30FPS as the video would be very stuttery on any other setting. I then used a SanDisk Extreme 32GB microSDHC UHS-I which allowed me to record up to 4K without stuttering at all. It is worth pointing out that both of these cards are Class 10, however the SanDisk Ultra has a low write speed, whereas the SanDisk Extreme has a higher write speed, and is designed to record up to 4K. Battery Life ===== In terms of battery life, in my test I set the screen to turn off after 1 minute of inactivity, and recorded in 1080p 60FPS. The camera was running for 1h 15m before the battery went completely flat. As there is a spare battery, you can expect to get around 2h 30m before you would need to recharge both. In most cases this would be fine, but if you are going on a long journey, you may want to think about getting a few extra batteries. Charging the battery from completely flat to fully charged takes about 2 hours using the provided plug, cable and dock. This means you would not be able to charge one battery up while another is being used, as you would still have around 30 minutes of no recording. Other Features ===== The addition of the Mini HDMI port and the Micro USB port on the side makes it very easy to view recorded videos, and view pictures you have taken. But is has to be said, the USB port should not be used for charging the battery, as it would take a lot longer to charge up fully. If you are also looking to transfer the files to your PC, using a USB 3.0 Card Reader would be beneficial as the transfer rate would be much better than if you are just using the Micro USB port on the side of the camera. The Wi-Fi app is also good, I had no issues getting the app setup and using it with my camera. Additionally, the remote is a nice touch, it means you can start recording when you are away from your camera. If for example you have it attached to the outside of your car (for those epic shots) but you do not want it recording all the time, you can just press the button on the remote and it will start recording for you. Conclusion ===== Overall, I am happy with the camera, it is perfect for what I need it for. It all comes down to the MicroSD card you use, if you get a card designed to record 4K videos, you can't go wrong. Whether you should choose this or one of the many other similar 4K cameras, there really will be no difference in video quality, it will just be in the accessories you get. I highly recommend this.

I bought this during the amazon prime day for £42 due to my other sports camera breaking. Its OK for a sports camera, no better or worse than my other model I had (SJ4000) Having seen lots of go pro footage from my friends there is no contest these cheap cameras aren't has good but they'll get you by. Unless your diving in some tropical blue lagoon every week, surfing in Hawaii or sky diving with the red devils then this or any other cheap sports camera on amazon which i suspect are the same technology will do. The colours are a bit washed out compared to go pros and the film not as sharp but again unless you pay a lot more money you ain't getting that quality. Its OK when set up static but when you move it about when your running or cycling then you notice the rough edges and pixelated blurring. There is a motorbike video on the reviews that clearly shows this. I have used various SD cards and it seems the same with all of them. I currently have a 32gb Samsung EVO plus class 10 SD card in. I use it a lot for still pictures as it has a wide lense to capture a lot more than a phone would. When using still pictures I find the quality better than the film quality. The remote control is really easy to use and a great idea. The waterproof case works well, I tested it first with tissue paper in the sink. Not sure how deep the case would hold its waterproof ablity with the affects of water pressure. Links up to my phone with ease (vodaphone smart 6 ultra) which is a pretty good to transfer straight into your phones gallery to send on WhatsApp etc. Comes with loads of attachments which is pretty good and two battery's, each one lasting well when flicking on and off. Not tried it continually on. For the price you can't go wrong really. ***UPDATE*** when out the waterproof case it doesn't record sound which I assumed it would do like my other camera, either its faulty or doesn't have a sound feature.

I use this cam for bike rides. It comes with lots of mounts and accessories. It is very easy to set up and use. The quality of the recording was beyond my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with the visual quality when i played back the footage. I have also used this cam in my car and have found it works pretty well as a dash cam aswell. Overall i would most definitely recommend this product as i do not feel you could get anything better for the price.

Great gadgets and accompaniments but Turns its self off, and unable to capture anything longer than 5 mins.

Very impressed with the quality of this product. I was nervous due to it being very inexpensive compared to many of the other brands that produce action cameras. But honestly the quality of the videos and photos were very impressive. After using this YDI Action Camera 4K Wifi Waterproof Sports Camera 10 days for all the ourdoor activities. I am really surprised at this small but awesome device. This device supports 4K ultra HD shooting, and various vedio resolutions: 4K25fps/ 2.7K30fps/ 1080p60fps/ 720p120fps. Moreover, This camera is also Built-in WiFi & HDMI output, it will help the review the photo and vedio as soon as possible on the computer and TV. This is waterproof version, works properly up to 30M. I can bring it to all activities: surfing, diving, snorkeling, biking, and driving. I would definitely recommend this product. Very value! !

Compré esta camara como reacondicionada de amazon, en estado: como nueva. Efectivamente, la cámara estaba perfecta estéticamente y lo único malo que tenía era que la caja estaba algo rota. Tras instalarle una tarjeta de memoria Samsung Evo de 32gb, clase 10 U1, comencé a hacer pruebas de grabación. La calidad era muy buena con luz (no tanta con poca,pero de ello pecan este tipo de cámaras). Mi decepción llegó cuando la cámara a veces paraba la grabación y se quedaba como colgada a los 2 minutos, 4...consiguiendo que la grabación más larga fuese de poco más de 7 minutos antes de colgarse. Al no poder grabar continuamente (aunque sea en diferentes archivos), procedí a devolverla.Un 10 para Amazon con las devoluciones, da mucha confianza comprar así. Por cierto, trae 2 baterías,pero a mi me duraba muy poco cada una,unos 20 minutos aproximadamente. Con ésto no quiero decir que la cámara sea mala, pero yo no tuve suerte con ella.

Vorab, ich kann dem Großteil der Rezensenten nur zustimmen. Die Kamera liefert für den Preis hervorragende Bilder, ist einfach intuitiv zu bedienen, hat ein gutes und cleveres Design, einen praktischen Screen auf der Rückseite und kommt mit unheimlich viel Zubehör. Das Gehäuse lässt sich mit GoPro Halterungen verbinden, allerdings sollte man nicht GoPro Clips in die Klebehalterungen der YDI oder umgekehrt stecken, die gehen nur schwer wieder zu lösen. Der Verkäufer ist ebenfalls klasse, als meine Kamera mit einem kaputten Akku geliefert wurde, tauschte er diesen direkt gegen zwei neue und ein Ladegerät, ohne Kosten für mich. Auch bei anfänglichen kleinen Problemen mit der Kamera reagierte der Verkäufer umgehend und half mir die Probleme innerhalb von einem Tag zu beheben - das habe ich so noch nie erlebt.

Assez surpris, cette petite caméra est très bien pour l'action prise de vue instantannée et ca suffit largement question qualité les bouttons rouges sur le cotés servent a activer le wifi et à activer la télécommande au poignet ( à installer très facilement la lanière) qualité d'image tres chaude, trop chaude ce qui fait que si vous filmez dans le sombre , l'image sera très sombre, mais franchement pour le prix, il ne faut pas se priver. sinon , la reference qualité est 10 fois plus chere (G.P. = $$$ !!) Mon ami l'a installé sur son casque de moto , franchement c'est top la journée. pleins d'accessoires pour commencer, Ne vous en privez pas !

La cámara tiene buena calidad de imagen, pero sólo graba diez minutos seguidos. Cada vez que llega a los diez minutos, se detiene y comienza un nuevo vídeo. Después de consultar en foros, he averiguado que el problema es bastante común y difícil de resolver. La he devuelto.

Eine für diesen Preis sehr gute Kamera. Allerdings hapert es mit der vom Hersteller angegebenen Andriodapp auch setzt sie ab und an mal waährend der Aufnahme aus. Daher zwei Sterne Abzug. Trotz allem lässt sie gut mittels des Umfangreichen Zubehörs wunderbar in mein Schlagzeugsetup integrieren.
