Where is this dog food made?

While being made in the USA is a good thing. the representative failed to elaborate on where all its ingredients are sourced. Please provide all this information as well, as Science Hill claimed the same, but it’s synthetic vitamins were sourced from China which owned a factory in the USA. This ended up causing many dogs to become ill and many passed as well. Please, research this as it happened , and not just once. The representatives statement really didn’t sit well with me, and for that reason.....I will research elsewhere. Natures logic makes better made food and also Primal. I had enough of these companies and non transparency.

This is the Grain Free formula,correct?

No but be careful with grain free! I was feeding grain free but grain free dog foods have been associated with heart failure. High amounts of lentils, peas, pea protein and potato are thought to be the culprit. Your best to stick with good grains. Rice is a good grain and you want to avoid food filled with filler grains. I like the ingredients in the taste of the wild ancient grains dog food but unfortunately for me the only one that doesn’t have any poultry is one my dog hates. To the point he will only eat if I zhuzh it up with ground beef and grated sweet potato & carrot. So I tried this kibble and my dog actually likes it. A dog I adopted as a senior who seems to have only been fed human food his whole life. A dog with skin issues, alopecia and allergies. So as long as he tolerates this kibble I’m sold.

What is the actual percentage of meat in this recipe? Salmon isnt a meal, & all I see is cereal grains that follow, with fish meal being far down list

Read the guaranteed analysis label first, then go to the list of ingredients which are always listed via the highest amount to the lowest amount of each particular ingredient. This way you know if you see that salmon is listed after 8 ingredients it’s garbage food and don’t purchase it. Being a CVT I can tell you that Purina ProPlan is one of the best in the market. If you check the ingredients Salmon is first on the list meaning it contains the mist of that ingredient which is the most important since it’s the protein source. Pro Plan has moved up in dog food industry now surpassing brands like Hills (unless it’s the Rx formula), BB, Nutro, Taste of the Wild etc. No it’s not as good as Royal Canin but I switched my pit who had allergic dermatitis and other skin issues from the RC (Rx only formula) due to the expense which I could no longer afford. Then I gradually switched her to ProPlan Salmon and Rice formula over a 7-10 day period. Salmon is great for allergies due to the omega fatty acids. Pro Plan is legit and my pit has no issues from the switch and the same results as RC Salmon blend formula. People care more about buying designer brand food like that Rachel Ray garbage; sorry but being a celeb cook doesn’t mean you know anything about creating proper formulas for a different species. Nonetheless people pay 3x the price for dog food that will likely give their fur baby kidney/heart/liver disease down the road. And Lisa never give your dog a food with 3 proteins….no wonder it has issues, if you’d managed to look at the ProPlan ingredients you’d see there is no grain listed, except for there being ground rice. Furthermore grain free food is just a ploy for manufacturers to make money by the way. There is nothing wrong with having some grain in dog food. They just take advantage of ppl not knowledgeable about dog nutrition and sadly there are far to many on this thread.

The fish smell is strong. Our two dogs now have bad gas, didn't before. Does this go away with those of you that have had gassy dogs?

My dogs were eating this for a long time, still had really smelly gas and bad breath. I switched foods mainly because of a batch or two I bought that the dogs wouldn't eat. Still good food, just my dogs stopped wanting it :( I switched them to Blue Basics limited ingredient Salmon and Sweet Potato food and not only do they love it, they don't have bad gas anymore.

Best dog food for my Siberian Husky.

Huskies are definitely dogs with attitude and mine is 8 years old and always had a sensitive stomach. She eats this faster than her old kibble which would be left out all night and there would still be some in the morning. This one it's usually gone by midnight. It seems to be helping her coat and joints. She's also having less trouble with diarrhea and she grazes on it as she sees fit. She seems to like the taste and the 40lb is usually a good value. This stuff apparently smells good to her because she gets excited but I don't like smell of it... But it's not too bad for dog food. This bag size is good because she's a smaller husky about medium sized dog so this lasts her 2-3 months. So I would say between this and her supplement for her joints she's doing very well for her age. This dog food has definitely helped her over all health.

Great dog Food

This food has helped my Great Dane so much! He use to have upset stomach and diarrhea multiple days a week. Since starting this food 6 months ago, he very rarely has diarrhea.

MAGGOTS IN DOG FOOD! Extra Protein, I think not!!

We switched to this dog food about 6 months ago due to both of my cocker spaniels having issues with their previously freshly made and delivered food. My dogs absolutely loved the food and noticed no issues. Their coats were as healthy as ever. I’d say in the past 2 months (2 batches of 40lb dog food bag), my wife mentioned she thought she seen maggots in the last batch and sure enough THERE IS MAGGOTS IN THE DOG FOOD. We received a new 40lb bag 01/12/2026 and as I was pouring it out into our lid sealed container I seen the maggots. I also looked back inside the bag and spotted few more maggots. This truly is a bummer and now may have to resort find another brand and picking up at the store. Please inspect your dog food as you pour it out. Maggots noticed at the bottom of dog food along with some kibble having like worm silk attached (unsure of the proper wording). See photos!

Great for sensitive stomachs

Our dogs have allergies and sensitive stomachs and this is the only thing we will feed them. They love it!

My dog’s always had stomach trouble with allergies, since I switched him over to this food, his stomach’s calmed down his poop has gotten solid. His health issues have improved, so no other better dog food in my opinion, if your dog has a lot of gut issues or yeast issues. This is the best food I have found to work.

I have a pitbull and if you're familiar they have a lot of stomach and skin issues. Since I switched to this food last year his skin doesn't get pink and he's not itchy. My only complaint is the seller not being able to deliver the food on time so I end up having to buy a bag from the store.
