Spectacularly comfortable and comforting
Bought one of these for my older son when he graduated from his toddler bed. He loves it. I love it.Such a great hit for him, bought another for my younger son last week. Same reaction. Great sleep. Great mattress. Not sure about the reviews complaining about odors. Both my mattresses smell great - no smell at all! I'm so impressed with these mattresses, I'm buying one for myself when our current mattress is up for replacement.Love that it's organic. Love that it's no chemicals. Love that my boys love it.Win. Win. Win.

Update in Mattress Design and is Now much better
Below is my initial review for this mattress. As you'll see, we were not happy with the purchase, contacted Naturepedic about it and ultimately decided to return it an go with another manufacturer. Our initial purchase was about 1.5 years ago. A couple of months ago someone from Naturepedic contacted me and said that they re-designed the mattress and asked if we would be field testers. They had gotten similar complaints to ours which prompted a look at their Quality Assurance processes as well as the overall design of the product. We agreed to test out the redesigned version of the mattress. They sent us a new one (this time a twin which we requested). You'll see the first two pictures are the original mattress that we returned. It literally looks deflated and never expanded after sitting out for a week or so with no one laying on it. The third picture is of the mattress immediately after unpacking. It was already so much better. The redesign is much improved! We can't feel the springs through the top like we did with the original and the padding on the top of the mattress is soft without giving up the firmness of the mattress which we want for our growing kids. I have spent the night on it to be next to my sick kiddo (my 1.5 year old is still in a crib and we currently have this mattress in his room for guests until he is out of his crib) and found it really comfortable. I tried the original one we had as well and I gave up partway through the night because I felt every spring in my back! After speaking with the company and learning about the changes they made to the design as well as getting to try out the mattress for ourselves, I'm giving the mattress 5 stars. I have already recommended it to friends and family who were looking for a safe, eco-friendly mattress for their kids.Initial Review: "I normally don't write reviews but this product suprised me with how bad it was. The mattress arrived rolled up as we expected and we let it lay ourtfor a day to fluff back up. However, it never really fully expanded even after 3 or 4 days. The pictures show a relatively plush, or at least cushioned top but ours was wrinkled and looked like it wasn't stuff all the way. When laying on the bed we could feel every spring. I contacted the manufacturer, Naturepedic, to see if this was a lemon and sent pictures. The response from the company was that the mattress looked fine. When they responded that nothing seemed wrong I asked if feeling the springs and no cushion on the top is their expectation of their product because I wanted to know if I should return it or exchange it. They said the mattress seems to be as expected. Luckily Amazon is great about returns. Overall, I do not recommend this product. I wanted to love this product because there aren't many organic mattressoptions for kids. We found out we have a small, local organic mattress manufacturer that does not use flame retardants that we will be purchasing a mattress from instead."

Peace of mind and comfort too
After driving myself crazy for a month at least reviewing the organic mattress options for my soon to be 4 year old as we transitioned her to a big girl bed (in an attempt to get her out of our bed 😆) I finally settled on the full size Verse. It arrived promptly, unpacked easily and so far seems wonderful. The first night she and I slept on it, I noticed it felt a bit uneven/sinking in some places and after getting up in the morning there were dents that didn’t pop back up so I reached out to customer service who was quick to reply and solved the issue in the first message. Turned out the slats of the bed frame were too far apart (not sure why I didn’t think of that!) and weren’t supporting the mattress well, so they recommended a bunkie board (as we did not want the added height of a box spring). Once we got that in place the bed felt so much more like it should. My little one loves it and it’s comfortable enough for me to sleep on too as she gets more used to spending the night alone in her own room. We hope it will last her for many years to come!

Improved
Reviewing of the new and improved version (June 2019). Had same previous naturepedic mattress (Sept 2018)The new mattress is definietly not as firm. As the first one hurt my back, this new one did not. This one is very comfortable, still on the firm side but much better, and supportive. I love the organic and safe quality material hands down. That is so important. The previous version indented quickly, this is still yet to be determined as the new one has only been used a couple weeks, will update by 2 months. So far so good, this is a quality mattress with comfort to match. Very pleased.

It STINKS!
We were very excited about this mattress as it is advertised as made with high quality materials and no off gassing of harmful chemicals. So imagine our surprise when we opened the bag and the smell was so overpowering, we took it out of our toddler’s room right away yet the smell stayed there for another couple of hours. My eyes were watery within minutes and my nose got runny. I’m very glad our toddler never got near it.The room we took it to so it could air out hoping it would fix the problem, became unbearably stinky.I thought something had to be off because this was supposedly made with good materials. I figured it must have been a fluke, perhaps it was mold or mildew on it from storage to have given me watery eyes and runny nose. Thanks to Amazon’s GREAT customer service, they shipped us a new one (I still have to go through the hassle of taking this to the UPS to return), but the new one, which wasn’t even unpacked yet had the exact same smell).I’ll now have to go through the hassle of returning not one, but TWO mattresses (and back to searching for a good mattress for my toddler. Should have asked the moms in my FB community what they’re using before I went through this - but will make sure to warn them to skip this one.
