wow this is a really good little reel. smooth and casts great. no hang ups. good buy for the price

This reel has a great heavy feel. I have caught several 3 plus pound channel catfish and the drag never slipped. Casts great would highly recommend for a low priced reel.

Badass reel! Light weight but feels solid. No crazy sounds like other budget reels. Very Smooth drag. Purchased to teach my son how to use bait casters I’ve been dealing with KastKing for almost 6 years and I’ve only had one issue. My first Royale Legend bait caster, 5 years ago, was very loud when casting after using it only twice. I contacted the company they apologized for the issue, sent me a new Royale Legend bait caster and threw in the Royale Legend spinning reel for the inconvenience. Since then I’ve had no issues and I’ve been a loyal customer. I have nothing bad to say about Kastking! An amazing company hands down

REVIEW UPDATE: July 2, 2026: It turns out that the bad one I received was an Amazon repackage but not sold by the seller. The seller rectified it by sending a brand new one. I have since updated my review to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I actually wanted to try KastKing products as they announced their entry to Japan. So, with Prime Day I decided to give the products a try in my fishing gear collection and for the most part, of the seven reels that I ordered, received five of them so far and four were brand new except one seemed off. Ordered it and it was pre-spooled with a birds nest and cut lines and it was dirty. Granted, I'm not going to give this a negative review because obviously, I was sent a used item. As none of the other four reels were pre-spooled, and the reel was in a bag indicating they were brand new. I'm sure it can be returned but here's the thing, this was supposed to be used for the July 4th holiday vacation in a few days from now. And I had purchased a rod for it already. As I need it, I can easily respool it and use it, as I know how to use a baitcast reel, so it's ready to go for the holiday. So, left in a conundrum of returning it and not having anything for the holiday vacation days for fishing or respool it and so I'll have it available for the holidays this coming week, even though it's kind of dirty and I think there is a paint chip as well (see photos attached) I don't like the fact that what was supposed to be new, came in used with dirt and grime on it, white stains easily and sure enough the handles were also a bit on the brownish side. It was a good value, and I couldn't wait to use a white baitcasting reel but this is my first time ever receiving a used product bought new on Amazon. Again, this is the only product from KastKing that I ordered as new that came in this condition, every other KastKing order was new.

Really good reel and would prefer u to buy I have caught countless of fish (5 pounds) and the drag was set to the max and it didn't budge and casting was really good but you also have to adjust it after every lure and it functions really well and the durability is amazing I think I dropped it like 10 times and it's fairly small but I'm still wondering how they got the drag to be so good

Good for first time buyer. Time will tell on durability.

I'm far from a pro but very pleased with the reel first time out loaded it up with 30lb braid casts were very good distance was great im not a fan of braid so i got some 12lb momo loaded it up never changed any settings i had for braid or jig size casts were longer and no back lash on braid or mono i fished for 3 hours each day so you can guess how many casts i made break set at 3 tension you can adjust to your liking but a long story short great buy.

Hate to leave negative reviews, but this thing is absolute garbage no matter how tight you set all the settings we took it in and had it set at a professional fishing store here in the city no matter what you do these are prone to backlash

doesn’t make that nice sound I wanted tho when casting lol one of the reel handles was sticking. Not a bad reel for beginners I suppose
