LykkeDriftwood Circular Knitting Needles 16 inch - Size 3

I have mixed feelings about these needles. They are beautiful and the wood is smooth and just the right sharpness, but by the second project the join has separated to the point that the yarn keeps catching on it when I slide my stitches over. I'm really irritated by it, since it's the one major flaw in what is otherwise a very pleasant knitting experience. I'm especially annoyed because everyone has been raving about the join on these needles-- either I have a flawed needle, or the other reviewers didn't give them a proper test run before their reviews.

Bumped down by 1 star because of the cable stiffness - I've read in multiple places that Lykke interchangeable tips fit on Knitter's Pride cables, and assumed that this meant both brands get their cables from the same source, but this Lykke cable is very stiff/inflexible compared to Knitter's Pride (I have a KP 16" fixed circular so was able to compare side-to-side).That being said, the join between the needles and cable has given me no problems, and I really like the needles themselves. The wood is very smooth (comparable to Knitter's Pride Dreamz) and there are no faults in the woodgrain that I can see. The tips are neither blunt nor super sharp; I wouldn't mind if they were just a little sharper, but they aren't as blunt as Clover's bamboo needles.

After buying the interchangeable set and loving them, I decided to start slowly collecting the 16" ones and other lengths in the small sizes that I use. I much prefer wood needles for socks and other yarn that isn't particularly "sticky". Despite thinking that they'd snap like toothpicks (seriously, the size 0s are tiny), they've held up well over a couple sock projects and I like that I can feel the flexibility of the wood. Tip sharpness is just right for my liking, dealing well with splitty yarns; cable is lovely and flexible; join is smooth and never catches.Sorry to hear that lots of people have had trouble with breakage, but I believe the company offers replacements if contacted.

Lykke makes amazing knitting needles. Not only are they smooth in my hand, with perfect points, the company is amazing. I received a defective needle a few weeks ago, it was broken when it arrived. I contacted the company, explained what happened, and within a week they sent out a replacement. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their products are beautiful, functional, and backed by a wonderful customer service and support team.

I was using 2.5 but 40" long to do a shawl. I was working on the border and needed a shorter needle. This is more like a 3, not a 2.5. I'll keep it, as I'm sure I'll use it for something I knit, but I went back to my 40" cumbersome needle to do the border.

Easy to use and work with until the wooden needle cracked and broke. Useless now in the middle of my sock project

I love these needles. Very smooth. Good tips to prevent splitting yarn fibers. My favorites.

These are the most elegant wooden needles. They slide just like metal, but don't click... which my husband appreciates!
