Irwin Tools Combination Square, Metal-Body, 12", 1794469 , Blue

I've had a couple of the cheap and nasty lightweight versions that quickly go rusty and leave you unable to read the markings. This will last many years if looked after. Accurate with stainless rule. The only problem I had was one corner of the rule had a minimal burr, but easily corrected with a file.

I bought this one and smaller one after going into reviews in great length , brilliant and solid , well worth the money for what I needed

does everything I want it to and accurately. The Combi square also has an excellent feel to it when in use.

Not as accurate as my B grade engineers square out of the box. Had to do a bit of filing to make it just right but I think for woodwork it should be fine without any tweaking.

I now have four combo squares and this is not only the best, but also the squarest of them all

very robust and sturdy square, you will not buy better for the money .

Me gustó este modelo de Irwin y aunque quizá podría ser más precisa, hace muy bien su trabajo. Esta punta que tienen todas las escuadras de combinación, la que se usa para el marcado, se me hace muy difícil de usar ya que es demasiado delgada y pequeña. Creo que se podría cambiar el diseño de esa pieza por algo un poco más robusto para que resultara útil y práctico llevarlo pegado a la herramienta. Sin embargo es un detalle que se agradece. :)) No vi si en las fotos de la publicación se ve la graduación de la escuadra, y bueno, el caso es que la que recibí tiene por un lado el sistema inglés, las pulgadas, y por el otro tiene ambos, pulgadas y centímetros.

This is a very good combination square, personally I am a welder who regularly cuts beams , angle iron , or plate material. Feels very sturdy, perfect angles time and time again and the extra 4 inches compared to the regular 12 is just perfect for reaching across longer areas as I found the 12 just wasn't cutting it, but this is a personal preference. The 12 inch Irwin performes just as well. The level is very clear and has a larger bubble then most combination squares do, this comes in handy when your trying to get things done quick and don't have time to double and triple check to make sure your in the lines. The nut to tighten it in place was also a pleasant surprise as it was bigger and more sturdy feeling then the Stanley model I had previously, seems like it will last year's as long as it is taken care of at least reasonably. I also found the actual ruler was 1/16 thicker then the Stanley and alot of other models I've seen which was good for me , I hate when they have even a little bend in them! Just a pet peeve of mine lol. Nice clear etchings in it as well, they aren't printed on they actually scribe them in there so they wont fade over time, you can actually take a simple wire brush over it after it gets some dirt on it and it cleans the markings right up! Hope this helped make your decision a bit easier I would highly recommend this bad boy!
