Awesome
I was looking for a replacement for my old rice maker. I looked at quite a few, but am glad I got this one. It has 4 different settings, which by the way, I don't need extra pots anymore and can get rid of clutter. It cooked the rice just as expected but it was faster than my old rice maker... Very simple to set, easy clean, compact for storage. I think is the best for the price.

Boiled Eggs
It is amazing for rice and quinoa and boiled eggs. I have to admit I used it more boiling eggs than anything else. It worked great in all modes. Highly recommend for easy use.

Cooks Perfect Rice
I love this rice cooker, if you follow the directions, you will get perfect rice every time. The size is fits in cabinets without over crowding. The size is good for single people or couples. I had another brand before this one, and it was adequate for cooking rice, but this brand was better quality

Great little multifunction rice cooker
We bought this rice cooker because it had a function to cook hot cereal. My husband makes steel cut oats in it every night to have for breakfast in the morning. I ordered a new one for him for Christmas so we could put one in our new RV. The product arrived in the original package with some slight damage to the package. Because it was a gift I did not open it up I just wrapped it up for Christmas. We didn't need the rice cooker right away so we put it aside till we did. It is the middle of April and my husband is just now opening up the rice cooker to use it. When he opened the box he discovered that the outside it dented pretty good. It still functions but just doesn't look as nice as the others we have previously owned. That is why I gave it 4 stars.Functionality: this is a great product. We have purchased three in the last couple of years. We originally bought this rice cooker to replace a small round crockpot that the ceramic crock had broken. This product works well. My husband loves that he can set up his cereal before he goes to bed and it's ready in the morning. It has a delay timer hat will start the cooking and then when it's done it keeps the cereal warm and till ges ready to eat it. I have also made rice in it. I love that I can set up the rice to cook and then not have to worry about it while it's cooking. The rice comes out perfectly cooked and fluffy. It is not sticky. The rice cooker has an insert for steaming a small amount of vegetables or you can hard boil five eggs. I have not done either of those functions cause I have other ways to cook those items. Overall we love this product and highly recommend it. I would definitely buy it again.

Way more than a Rice Cooker!
What intrigued me about the Hamilton Beach Digital Programmable Rice Cooker & Food Steamer is its versatility, especially the steaming feature. I love making one-pot meals and this device has made it soooo much easier to do so! Using the Grains option, I've made pots of lentils/barley/brown rice, rice and beans (with both the White Rice and Grains options), buckwheat/barley, quinoa, couscous, polenta. All that's left to do is add extras (e.g., scrambled egg, shrimp, mixed veggies, cheese) to the cooked rice or grains for a quick and nutritious meal! I've yet to use the steamer basket but am planning to try steaming a bit of salmon and a few veggies this weekend while a batch of rice cooks below. The Hamilton Beach Digital Programmable Rice Cooker & Food Steamer is easy to use and a snap to clean: I spray a bit of olive oil in the non-stick pot before adding the rice/grains, herbs, broth and have ZERO residue to clean off the bottom of the pot! One of the best small kitchen appliances I've ever purchased and use it several times each week.

I love this rice cooker
Had to replace an ancient rice cooker and am delighted with this purchase. I haven’t tried cooking rice or eggs in this yet, but steel-cut oatmeal came out perfectly, whereas in my old rice cooker, the oatmeal was never quite done, yet always slightly burned on the bottom. It’s light-weight, easy to clean, and a good price for what I foresee as many years of use.

Easy to use.
I have been wanting a rice cooker for a while. I read the reviews on the Hamilton Beach and they were mostly all positive so I ordered one. Well, the first on I got was defective. I returned it and they sent out a replacement. The second one is fantastic. It cooks the rice and steams vegetables perfectly. Love that it is programmable and that is can cook 12 cups of rice at one time. Definitely comes in handy when I am cooking for a large crowd.

Easy to use. Perfect results.
Tried this out today and I mostly love it. I cooked two cups of white rice and it was pretty painless. Fill the measuring cup that's included twice, and add two cups of water. hit a button and walk away.I wasn't really paying attention, but I think it was done in about twenty minutes. When it finishes cooking it will switch to a warming cycle that lasts for twelve hours. So you really don't have to worry about it sitting too long or overcooking. My only complaint is the readability of the rice measuring cup, and the cooking container. The measuring cup doesn't seem as important. One cup makes one cup of cooked rice; good for a one person meal. However, the cooking container has lines embossed in it for how much water to add but the marks and text are simply indented in the metal with no paint to make it readable. I have bad eyesight and it's practically useless to me. I actually paid no attention to the markings and just measured two cups in a measuring cup. It's not a big deal, but I just wish it was more readable. It would make it just a little easier to use without having to grab a measuring cup. I could just take it to the sink to fill.Overall, I'm very happy with the cooker. The quality of the rice seemed much better than I usually get from instant rice on the stove.
