Silence: BXI Sound Absorber Test Run
In an apartment flanked by the bustling subway line, the BXI Sound Absorber panels have brought much-needed quiet. Designed to capture and dampen sound, these panels have been particularly effective in my study, where clarity and concentration are paramount. Performance: The sound-absorbing material is excellent at reducing incoming noise, particularly the higher frequencies of screeching brakes and clattering tracks. Ease of Use: Lightweight and easy to install, these panels can be arranged in various configurations to optimize sound absorption, making them versatile for any room layout. Aesthetic Versatility: Available in several colors, they can be arranged in aesthetically pleasing patterns that enhance rather than detract from home decor. Overall Experience: The BXI Sound Absorber is more than just functional; it’s a critical component of my home’s defense against external noise. It’s a top-tier choice for urban dwellers facing similar acoustic challenges.

Works as advertised, great value
Work very well, easy to install. I used them to quiet down a clock that is located in a bookshelf, and they absorb quite a bit of the sound that was reflecting out of the shelf area surrounding the clock. These panels are lightweight, and easy to cut with a utility knife. I would highly recommend.

Really good option
I researched product and possible panel layout before installing the panels on the wall. I decided to buy these panels because the reviews were good and some mentioned sound deadening and blocking and of course they dit my budget. Unfortunately i moved from one noisy apartment to another. Walls are like paper in a NY apt. There is no such thing as quiet in NY apartments. These sound absorbing tiles will quiet your room from noise inside and coming from next door but they will not completely block all sound however, i am very happy with the outcome. Not only is my space quieter but the panels added texture and asthetic to the wall. I suggest that you use an online free tile calculator to figure out how many you need to order. There are also tile layout patterns you may want to use to add a little extra detail to the wall. I used the subway pattern and a 30% tile staggering. It Looks great! The tiles i purchased were the camel color 16x12, 6 pack. The tiles look more grey in photo but in prtson thry are a light camel color. As others have mentioned the tiles arent exactly 16x12 just a little less. The wall i was installing the tiles on is not even and my skill is novice so there were some gaps but the finished product looks great. I used scotch double sided tape in four corners and the center and so far its sticking great. Certain tiles i used more tape ex. if the wall was curved or i thiught the tile wouldnt hold overtime do to location of the tile.

Handy for various purposes
The sheets are smaller, meant to be tiled or used in small applications. They are quite thick, durable, and a little tricky to cut. So far I've simply lined square areas to deaden sound but I find many other uses now that I have extra. It's a firm but forgiving surface so I've even used it as a workspace protector. One of the more interesting projects was to clean up a car radio install that had a floating screen. The material is cheap, versatile, and reasonably easy to work with so it ended up working well in this space. I cut the rectangle with a razor, then cut out the opening in the center. After that I realized I needed to thin certain areas of the material to make it fit - this was surprisingly easy. You can use the blade to dig out areas, even creating angled relief spots to get the perfect fit. Since it's a fibrous material it has some flexibility and can compress a tiny bit. At the end of the day it also cut down on the noise transfer from the once partially occupied double DIN area with a poor seal. Hacky use case, but I like it.

Color was off
The product is very sturdy and well made it's just at the color was off from what we thought from the description. Against our beige wall, the color of light camel looked more gray than something in the brown family. For the reason of the color we ended up sending them back. We didn't put enough up to know how the sound absorbency was due to knowing they were going back.

Feels high quality
Nice and stiff, looks good. I mean, its no broadband absorber, but thats physically impossible. Worked as expected to tame some high frequency reflections off my desk in the studio.

Did nothing
I don't know where these reviews touting these things come from. They did nothing to stop the sound.

One pack of tiles are an addition to many various theater sound panels & other tiles .
They are like their image & do indeed control upper frequency reflections. This is not the kind of tile I would prefer for serious sound isolation (ie.stopping outdoor urban noise) ,but they have some insulating ability. If your not really into (studying) room acoustics than these are better for controlling ringing, & hand clapping echos type of sound. Placed right these can work well for voice, mic, podcasting area sort of use, but 6-12 of these tiles vs this thickness, material, & price can only do so much as a room grows in size or complexity.

Works well to absorb sound
I have an extremely annoying, inconsiderate upstairs neighbor who insists on blasting their tv and music at maximum volume all day and night despite multiple noise complaints. I decided to try these sound absorber panels out as a way to save my sanity in the meantime. I'm happy to say that these panels make more of a difference than I expected. I bought two packs, so 12 panels in total, and it has made a significant difference. The bass that echoes from above me is now more tolerable thanks to these panels. They don't block out the sound, but they definitely help to absorb the sound enough to make it less unsettling. Since they are affordable, they're definitely worth trying if you have loud apartment neighbors.

Have to used very strong tape to adhesive

Not exactly 12x16, but they work. Nice straight cut.
Not 12x16. Actual dimensions: 11 7/8 x 15 3/4. Now while the dimensions are a little smaller than claimed, they were all the EXACT same size and nice and square so they all still lined up together nicely, they just had a tiny gap when placed with anything exactly 12”. Product is a nice black, very rigid (similar to styrofoam, just denser). Stuck well with gorilla glue adhesive spray. Arrived quickly but only comes wrapped in plastic. Mine came wrapped in plastic wrap with amazon delivery in another box so it was ok but I would say there’s a small possibility of damaged corners when purchasing solo as it’s only wrapped in plastic. Kinda disappointing for the price. Currently use mine on the wall beside my bed (bed in corner of room) to help with reverb and noise dampening at night. I also wanted a product that would be able to handle my dogs kicking at it and to also stop my elbows/knees from going through the wall in my sleep and this product really seems to cover all of those areas, just wish it was 12x16 but in this particular case it worked or better shorter. Overall still happy with the product, but a little expensive and not exactly 12x16 so 4 stars. Would recommend for the cuts being very straight
