Doggy loves it
I bought this for my very bright 8 month old miniature dachshund who is always on the look out for new things to play with and figure out! I wanted something that would be quite stimulating for him and something he could play with on his own, so this seemed to tick the boxes. I fill it up with an assortment of his dog biscuits which are his normal food, some small dog treats and a couple of his favourite little sweets - just to make it a bit more interesting and have him wonder what will drop out next and when! And I can say now after having this ball for a couple of weeks he really does enjoy using this. It didn't take him long to cotton on to the fact that the ball drops treats and what is good is that it does it rather randomly (whatever setting you have it on - I use setting 2) and he has a great time chasing it around and poking it with his nose and even his paw to try and make them come out!Basically does what it says it does and I am pleased at how well my dachshund took to this - he plays with it every day and actually gets the majority of his evening meal from it rather than just eating the biscuits from his bowl, he prefers this method! Recommended! :)

Durable and fun!
We foster dogs and I bought this about six months ago for rainy days. It's brilliant. Most of them figured it out quickly enough and then had great fun knocking it around. It is also very durable - it withstood a Staffordshire bull terrier who could rip pipes and ropes to bits in minutes - the size is big enough too that dogs don't seem to have much interest in chewing it.We've used it with Collies, Labradors, Saint Bernards... They all loved it and I would definitely recommend it.I only docked one star because the opening tends to be a bit loose and I found that it can slide shut sometimes - which can confuse the dog trying to learn how to play. But a bit of card stuck underneath, or a bit of tape stuck on top worked fine.To all the people who say that their dog destroyed the ball - might I suggest that you supervise the dog as he plays with it? I only let my dogs roll it around, and they were told "no" if they tried to chew it. After they had emptied it, I then take it away until the next feeding time.

Good Idea, done not so well
The idea of this as a teaching toy in order to let the dog work out for himself how and where to get the treats from it is a good one. Sadly it doesn't really work as the hole is rather large and pretty much ANY rolling of the ball will result in treats coming out even if there are only a few in it. Mine may have been defective or the design changed though as the image shows a much smaller dispenser hole and a cap which mine doesn't appear to have. The ball itself is a pretty hard plastic so the dog can't destroy to get the treats which is good and dependant upon the size of the dog will have some trouble picking it up, meaning they will have to push it about which is good as it is leading them in the learning direction.. sadly as noted the dispense hole just needs a bit more work before it really comes together as intended.

A good way of keeping your dog occupied
The media could not be loaded. A great interactive toy for your dog. Fill the ball up with kibble (probably best from their daily food allowance) or some treats, set the opening on the toy to either a quarter (hard mode) or a half (easier mode) and give it to your dog to play with.I only put a handful of kibble in the first time I used this and it kept my 7 month old pup quiet for over 15 minutes as she rolled it around the kitchen trying to get all the food treats out of it - she managed to get every one, but she is a Labrador so I should have expected that if food was involved! The toy I received was a dark blue plastic rather than the bright red shown in the picture but that didn't really matter - especially not to the dog! When you first open the toy there is a very strong smell of plastic but that does fade after a couple of days in the open air and it didn't deter my dog from playing with it.This is definitely one of those 'got to get' toys if you don't already have one for your dog.

If Only it was better made!
I've had this 3 days and my Cairn Terrier loves it - she thinks it is the best toy ever! Fun and rewards - BUT.... That was the good news - Unfortunately the casing around the 'hatch' falls apart. This is a toy that is used 'under supervision' and you will definitely need to be there if you are worried about your pet eating more than the treats. Bits of the casing have fallen off just with this small dog 'pawing' the ball. If your dog can actually get its mouth around this ball then you need to be ultra cautious. Not for 'throwing' - even on a carpet - more of a supervised 'puzzle'. If only it was better constructed it would be the Perfect Dog Toy!Update: a few days later - bits of plastic continue to fall off the casing (the opening plate/hatch where the treats go in). The actual ball is sturdy enough and seems indestructable (for my terrier at least). This is a toy that you definitely need to supervise as these bits are hard and sharp - a large dog may make short work of this part of the toy.
