Great solar water pump!
Great Solar water Pump! Used these for water fountain features displayed at an apartment building. They are fantastic. Easy to clean. I could tell these would work great for a large scale water feature. Had to come up with a trick I found on YouTube for the install in a medium size ceramic pot.

works great
The instructions are not super helpful, but with a little fiddling around, you can figure out how to put it together. The solar panel works really well to power the little pump. It's almost too strong for a small birdbath. The reason I bought this one is because the solar panel can be up to 10 feet away from the bird bath, to get the most sunlight. Another thing I like about it is: the pump stops if the water gets too low, to prevent the pump from burning up. Great product!

Two out of two pumps have failed
I own two of these, and the pump has failed on both of them (the second one after less than 3 months!). I replaced the pump with these: amazon.com/dp/B0CFF91KVS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title which seem to work as well as the original. The solar panel itself if well made and seems to work fine, but the pumps didn't last. They are kept clean and I made sure that the impellers could move freely, but they didn't work, even with another power source. Once I replaced the pumps, they functioned perfectly. Would not recommend or purchase again.

Must be in FULL SUN to operate at all. Nice little pump.
I made a little bird bath fountain in the back yard, using a large cheap plastic planter and river rock. Other than this pump, noting else was needed. (I did have to plug the planter drain using silicone sealant / adhesive.) The little 6w version I have worked immediately when the solar panel was connected. (Note: Pump must be underwater before connecting to panel. You risk damaging the pump otherwise.) One Important thing to keep in mind. This solar panel will not work in the shade. Any shade. Just a little shade. When it's in full sun, it's pretty impressive for such a tiny pump. But if you don't have spot with full sun, at least some time of the day, it won't work for you. You do have about 8-10 feet of cord and the panel is easy to move around if you're willing to chase the sun. I took one star off because while the clear plastic tubing fit well on the pump, none of the spray heads or adapters provided would fit. Normally I would have taken more stars off for a serious issue like this, but in fairness this pump may still work fine for you. Here's the deal...if the pump itself is just below the waterline...no more than two inches or so, there is a hard plastic extension provided. And happily the spray heads will fit on it OK. If you need to lift the water more than that, 4' of clear flexible tubing is provided. In my case I needed about two feet of plastic tubing. This is when you run into trouble. The spray heads won't fit and can't be used. In many applications, however, just having the water come out of the end of the tubing is fine. For instance, maybe you have a little waterfall, and just need to feed the water into that. Or, as in my case, I just propped the tubing straight up and it makes a nice little arch of water...like coming out of a hose. The birds don't care!

Bought 2 for my birdbaths!
Gotta remember, this ONLY works in DIRECT sun! Shadows & clouds in front of the solar panel, or if the sun is waning on either side of the panel, reduce the fountain effectiveness. However, when fully activated, it is a powerful little fountain! I’ve had issues with what fountain spray I wanted to use as each one would spray tall enough that the slightest breeze blew the water out from the bath! So I just simply settled on NO spray at all and just let the fountain bubble from the bottom which works so much better now that I don’t have to constantly refill it daily!! The fountain DOES have a shutoff protection feature should your fountain run low / out of water. Birds are attracted to the splashing water, and I have rocks that hummers, butterflies and bees have the capacity to drink from as well. The fountain is easy to use, a great value for the $$ and looks great in the birdbath! The only downside I see is the cord between solar panel & fountain is only 6 feet and I wish it were longer so it’s not so noticeable since the panels had to be placed in areas that were distant from the fountain PLUS having to climb up the base of the birdbath.

Works great! Not
I just installed this and wow I'm very impressed. It's not in a particularly some spot but it still works great. When the no sun it shuts off. No birds yet but I think they need to understand what it is. Edit: I no sooner posted this when it stopped working! It seems that if the water level drops it stops working. IDK this may be an issue. I'm very disappointed. I'm returning

Bought another, it’s that good!
Love the quality and the performance of this solar water fountain! Love it so much I bought a second one! My first one is still going strong and this is the second season of using it. I stored it during the winter months as well as during the very early spring when the pollen was too heavy. I tried several other solar bird bath fountains from eBay and from Amazon but they failed after a few months. This one seems to be of higher quality. The foam circular part that came with it got damaged somehow but it didn’t affect the fountain’s performance. I just use it without the foam pad and it works better for my needs. What I find impressive is that it keeps bubbling (though slower and interrupted) even on overcast days! Highly recommended!

I would buy this again!
This is an easy set up and the pump works great! Keep in mind it only works if the solar panel is getting enough sunlight. When cloudy it slows down or stops until the sun hits it again. The birds love the moving water.

Meh
Works okay but has to be in the super bright sun to continue working properly. Wouldn’t buy it again.

Doen't work
Does not work. The pump has a sensor in it that seems to detect when it's not in water. That would be great for not burning the motor out, but the sensor doesn't often seem to think it has enough water to run. I have my pump fully submerged in water and instead of a constant stream of water, it keeps turning on and off intermittently. If I'm lucky it will give me a continuous flow for 30 seconds or a minute but no longer, just the pump turning on and off constantly. It's definitely not an issue with the pannle as it's been strong enough to pump water even when clouded over. This is just a poorly put together pump.
