It is solid construcction on the cooking plates. the handles are kind of flimsy but they work. I have used this item on our gas stove like the ad showed and was able to cook a hotpocket like hotdog with cheese and mustard. It was tasty. I also just did cheese and bread. It is important to butter the bread or use what ever you use to oil your pan to cook. This helps your sandwhich get a good brown and semi crispy texture. There is only one problem with this item. It is significantly shorter in length than a regular hotdog. I had to cut mine down to fit inside the cooker. Thus 4 instead of 5 stars.

Wish it was a little bigger. Does not easily fit any normal size bread or tortillas or anything like that especially with any kind of meaningful amount of fillings. Lots of waste with normal use. Great idea though. Construction seems good enough

Just a bit smaller than i thought but great for making quick snacks. I find myself throwing a slice of bread and cheese and meat, quick calzone. I could see even putting in leftovers and rehashing meals. I'd like to have a bit bigger but still love it. works fine over my gas range. Might have to play with temperate of fire more to avoid burning. Def will bring along if ever camping or we are in WW3.

I had seen a similar item in a reel and thought it would be neat to try. The item arrived and it appeared to be simple to assemble and use. However, when the handles were screwed in completely, the loop didn't line up completely, so I had to back out one handle. Even then, the loop is too tight to use whilst handling a HOT device! The two halves don't stay together very well when trying to assemble a sandwich, so again it requires great caution to avoid getting burned or dropping the food on the floor. Otherwise, it did work and produced a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches, which I think are more like an empanada. This item should always be used by an adult!

They show cooking a hotdog size sausage in this thing. When it arrived I was shocked to see how small it was . No way a hot dog will fit in this. Maybe a brown and serve type sausage link or a little smokie. Will be returning this.

Great product, kids love making snacks in this. And none of them complains.
