Delta Faucet ProClean Chrome Shower Head with Handheld, Showerhead with High Pressure Spray, Handheld Shower Head, 6 Spray Settings, Chrome 75740

I replaced an older shower head that had become unusable. This one happened to fit into the holder where the old one sat - that is a big plus. The old unit was rather expensive and all metal - I was concerned that a plastic one would look cheap, but this is very well done and looks fine. It has a myriad of settings, more than my older unit, and works very well. In my application it is a hand-held unit that is separate from the main fixed shower-head, and it serves that purpose perfectly. It was an easy install and a welcome addition at a price only a fraction of the cost of the old unit. Lots of water pressure and many adjustments so I'm glad I picked this one - my primary purpose was to have one that would fit the existing setup, and this one did so perfectly.

Very nice shower head. We live in a trailer park in the country that has well water that’s pretty heavy in calcium. Our shower came with a shower head that was frequently clogging and when so many of the holes got clogged it would make the water pressure in the rest so high that it felt like it would saw your nip off if you stood the wrong way. Something had to be done. Not to mention my 6’10 bf couldn’t suck down far enough under the original to actually wash his hair. So I took it upon myself to order this one. It has the rubberised tips so I don’t have to use an old earring to try to stab calcium blockage out of the holes to relieve pressure. It hasn’t gotten clogged yet anyway. The water pressure is perfect now. It’s not too low or too high. I have even had to touch the setting honestly but my boyfriend did mess with them a little after he installed it. The button for the setting that you can use to rinse the shower is really cool and will come in handy when I’m scrubbing the shower down and I like that it has some power behind it. It wasn’t outrageously expensive and has all the bells and whistles I wanted. It works perfectly and will be going with me if we ever move. Also the cord on it is longer than most which is nice because you can use it to reach to wash children’s hair or give a dog a bath without worrying that you’ll rip it out of the wall or spray everything in a 360 degree radioud if things get a little chaotic.

Strong materials, great quality, easy to install. The option to spray a concentrated, targeted area is great when using it to clean the shower.

I wanted a decent handheld shower at a decent price. I did not want anything fancy. This is easy to install and it looks nice. Keep in mind at this price it is made out of chrome looking plastic. That is fine for me because I don't care if it is fancy. If you want something that is metallic and super high quality and nice to the touch don't get this. If you want a simple handheld shower that works well and is easy to install this is perfect. Would I buy it again? Yes and no. For my guest bathroom yes. For my own bathroom I would probably go a little more expensive for a little more high quality.

**** GENERAL **** I needed a hand shower with a 72 inch hose to replace a Delta unit that has been in use for a little over five years. I decided to get another Delta because I knew the handle would fit in my optional grab bar mount (photo 3). Most models have a 60 inch hose. This Delta 75740 model's 72 inch hose reaches the grab bar mount and still allows plenty of movement of the hose while in use. Of the six spray options the full Spray and Shampoo Rinse are a must have for my household use. The wide Proclean Spray is a great option where I discovered it works well to rinse soap and shampoo off the shower walls to help reduce the build up of soap scum, Overall I am satisfied with the water flow rate. Some reviewers stated the water spray hit their back wall. I have a relatively small walk-in shower. I was able to adjust the mount where the water did not reach the back wall. If I did not make this adjustment after installation the water would have hit my back wall. **** DELTA MODELS **** While shopping for my replacement hand shower I checked Amazon and two big box stores. Amazon has the best price deal at $36.03 for the chrome finish as of the date of this review. There are three distinct Delta related model numbers. 75740 for Amazon. The other two model numbers are 75720 and 75719 which are sold “exclusively” at each big box store. I downloaded the specification sheets from Delta for all three models. All functions are the same such as the six spray options, Proclean Spray, water flow rates, etc. The only difference is each model has a different cosmetic appearance of the spray holes on the face of the shower head portion. **** INSTALLATION **** The installation is straight forward where the average DIYer can do it. As stated in the instructions HAND TIGHTEN all parts and use plumbers tape on the shower arm threads, This worked well for me. There were no leaks and the spray options functioned as designed. Tip: after installation the head mount attached to the shower was sort of stiff when making adjustments and loosened sufficiently after I moved the mount a few times. Since this unit is mostly all plastic I suggest using two hands to make initial adjustments to minimize the chance of breaking the mount. Place one hand on the part attached to the shower arn (photo 2). While holding firmly use the other hand to move the mount to different positions. After doing this I was able to easily make adjustments. **** WATER FLOW RATE **** The flow rate of my hand shower is almost more than enough to get the job done. Delta rates the water flow rate at 1.75 GPM (gallons per minute). My local plumbing codes allow a maximum of 1.8 GPM. The difference is about 6-1/2 ounces which in real world use makes no difference. What is not mentioned in the product information section of the Amazon page versus the Delta spec sheet is the the 1.75 GPM rating is at water pressure of 80 PSI. My water pressure is set at about 55 PSI (photo 4) so I am getting less than 1.75 GPM, but the water flow rate is very good.

Looks and works great. Has an industrial & high end look/feel..at least so far. It actually exceeded (vs. how it appears online). BUT just be aware when it's first installed the water pressure 'may' seem flimsy/mediocre. Just got an entire shower upgrade/conversion. The installer was the one who hooked everything up. Don't know if he maybe just didn't fully install & tighten everything correctly. I unscrewed the shower head myself looked underneath and saw the plastic pressure control piece embedded into it. Tried to remove it completely but it wouldn't budge much. Didn't want to make things worse so just left it for my installer to remove when they come back. But after fully screwing the shower head back in to my very pleasant surprise the water pressure was pretty stellar! Full blast (vs the earlier in the day). Not sure 'what' I did lol but just know it IS something you're able to rectify if the water pressure (initially) seems subpar. Recommend!

I love it! I am renting a place and I wanted an easy install and something I could also use to shower off muddy dog feet. Whoever installed the shower head at this place had really tall people in mind but this still reaches to the floor. I really like the power blaster button for cleaning off the shower walls. Clearly a quality product.

This is the second Delta handheld shower head I have purchased (both the same model) The first I purchased from Lowes last year when I finally went to install it I opened the box to see that it was used... there were visible finger prints, none of the parts were wrapped up it was all just shoved in a box and taped up... it had buildup on the shower head and remnants of plumbers tape left over. I didn't feel like dealing with the hassle of going back to Lowes (45 min drive) and returning it since it had been past the return window so I gave it a good clean and installed it (this was the brushed silver color) I liked the shower head and it had great functionality especially the weighted hose made of metal and the water pressure feature. I figured it was Lowe's fault for selling me a returned and used item. I moved to an apartment with black finishes and decided to purchase this same shower head again in the black color this time. This time it arrived with NO washers, and the hose is made of thin stiff plastic that looks and feels extremely cheap - it awkwardly hangs from the shower head and you cannot bend it straight (the photo is after 2 months having it installed, it looks nowhere near as bad as it did when I first installed it), even with time it has not straightened out as there is no weight to it. I see other reviews stating the same issue. Not to mention it was missing pieces. I am very disappointed with Delta as I paid a decent amount of money for this item (TWICE) to be disappointed both times. I'm not sure why the same model being sold at Lowes comes with an actual metal hose and from Amazon it is plastic, or if it's due to the color, either way a total waste of money because I will have to now go out of my way to get washers and a new hose separately. I would return this if I still had the option but it was my own fault for procrastinating on this project and now am out of the return window. Please spend your money on something else - literally any other handheld shower head and do not waste your money on this cheap garbage that clearly does not go through any sort of quality control before being sold to customers. I will not be purchasing anything from Delta again.

I picked up the Delta ProClean handheld shower head recently, and it impressed me right away. Installation took less than five minutes with no tools, and it sealed up perfectly with no leaks. I like this shower head. It got good pressure. Multiple jet mode. A pressure jet just right to clean things. It feels like it's good quality. As a plumber, I recommend!

I had bought another "high pressure" showerhead from Amazon to replace my broken one, which is with tens of thousands of race reviews. That other one turned out to be leaking from the connector. The biggest issue is that it puts out too much pressure that all my floor is wet especially with the kids. Also when I found the actual water output was way more than marketed. I did tons of research and ended up taking a chance on this one. This one puts out very good pressure but not excessive. It actually works very well, with different settings and even one for cleaning. The water output of 1.75 GPM matches the description. No misleading label. Yay! The output actually feels very strong and we enjoy our showers a lot!
