Good quality and comfortable to use
Never spent this much on secateurs before but my current cheap pair fell apart so a search for quality brought me here. I have small-ish arthritic hands and wondered if these might be too heavy but, actually, they're not and are comfortable to use. My broken pair have a rolling handle but I don't feel I miss that. I do like that these seem sharp, though I'm not sure I'd be trying, or even able, to cut through 20mm. I also like that they can be broken down for repair so should last a long time.

Great pair of secateurs for the smaller hand.
I've been using Felco secateurs for over thirty years and find them incomparable to cheaper copies, I don't know why but they just out perform secateurs that look identical to Felcos. They continue to be the choice of professionals so that tells you something. I use a Felco 2 as it is a full size professional pair of secateurs. I bought these Felco 6 as a present for me mum as they are slightly smaller and I think she'll find them just right for her hand. I bought a pair of Felco 6 secateurs many years ago and found them to have all the wonderful robustness, sharpness etc that I'd come to expect from Felco. They are perfect for dead-heading, cut flowers, and smaller pruning jobs. For general gardening and the ability to prune stems of a diameter of an inch or more I'd always choose Felco 2... but I think many women would enjoy the smaller Felco 6...the jaws open a little less but they are precise and light in the hand. The info on the box says the secateurs can cut up to 0.8 inches and is suitable for a medium hand. Perfect lady secateurs I'd say...for larger pruning use a pair of loppers.

The best secateurs
Felco secateurs are the best ones you can buy and will last a lifetime . This one is the Felco 6 which is just perfect for the small to medium hand. Swiss-made, to a high standard , the hard steel blade stays sharp for ages and is easy to sharpen when required. All the parts are readily available if required and are easy to fit. Of course, they are not cheap but you get what you pay for and, once tried, you will never want to use any other brand .

Worth the money.
I purchased these after reading the reviews. I have started to have problems with my right hand, early signs of arthritis, and every time I use my usual secateurs my hand goes stiff and movement is difficult. I have had these for a few weeks and they are very comfortable to use. The handle is small so it is the perfect size for my hand and the coating is comfortable in the hand. The secateurs are sharp and easily cut through tough shrub this means there is less pressure on my hands. After using these I my hand is less painful. They are good quality and come with spare springs. Several reviewers have stated that the clip holding the blades together is difficult to move. I have not had this trouble mine moved easily. I am so pleased I purchased these secateurs. They are worth every penny.

and the wire notch will cut garden wire easily. After each cut
In 2013, I bought this Felco #6 and its companion Felco 910 leather holster to suit my small hands. It has been in constant use since. I am impressed with the quality and what it is designed for, so, recently I bought another set for my daughter who also has small hands. I can make a clean cut of branches up to 3/4 of an inch, and the wire notch will cut garden wire easily. After each cut, I always put the secateur in its unlocked position in the holster. That way it keeps the secateur tight in its holster and it is ready to use. When I finished the job, I washed off the sticky residues on the blade with an old tooth brush in soapy water, then dry and lightly oil it. This secateur should last a long long time unless you loose it by accident ! In my opinion, it is worth paying a bit more for a quality product.

Excellent secateurs, minor niggles.
I chose these secateurs as I have very tiny hands and these are just the perfect size. They are lovely to hold and use, having a nice weight to them. They are beautifully sharp and a pleasure to use, cutting cleanly and easily. I thought hard before buying them as you can purchase secateurs far more cheaply, but I have now been through several pairs of cheap secateurs and they all become difficult to use very quickly, so are a false economy. These secateurs if properly looked after should last a life time. The packaging has a full diagram of the parts, and instructions for servicing the secateurs yourself. I like the fact that in these days when everything is made to throw away, these buck the trend. The red handles are comfortable to grip and make them easy to spot when left lying around the garden or allotment. I do however have a couple of small niggles, the locking mechanism was awkward to start with and after a couple of uses became impossible. I could not open them at all. Eventually I applied WD40 and left it to work its magic. It took several hours before I could open them, then I could not lock them - it was a full day before I could lock them again. However, it appears to have worked and I have been able to lock them ever since. The other point to note is that the catch to lock them is quite sensitive and you think it has locked only to find that they suddenly spring open and you need to push the catch round a further notch. This said I wouldn't swap them for another brand.

These are the best secateurs. Don't buy any other brand
These are the best secateurs. Don't buy any other brand. They are made in a number of sizes so will fit any hand size and are very sharp and a joy to use. Do some research before buying by looking at the Felco website. They explain which pair is which and what they are good for cutting and the sizes they come in. then go and buy from Amazon. No need to do what one Felco buyer/amazon reviewer did which was buy a pair then complain they were too big for her hands and then also said why didn't felco make different sizes!!!!....Well they do..lots of them some with swivel handles to stop strain. With the Internet at your fingers ten minutes research can inform you enough to be able to buy the pair that suit you and your garden. A great product....go buy.

Built to Last
These secateurs are brilliant. Very, very sharp and very well made. Every component of them can be replaced, if need be, so you'll never have to buy a new pair of secateurs again. These are the medium, which I bought because my wife has smaller hands and they are great for her. I have larger hands and I can use these comfortably as well. They give a very clean, almost surgical cut and are well worth the money. Read and watch reviews online and you'll see just how well regarded these are.

Felco, DIE Gartenschere schlechthin!
