John Dow 30 Gallon Portable Steel Gas Storage Caddy, UL Listed, HGC-30UL

This is my second purchase for this Fuel storage transfer system. I bought my first one from a different company. When going back to that site, they were only offering a different round storage unit instead of the square one shown here. Amazon was the only site I was able to find this. It came a little rough packaged as compared to the one I bought before this one and had a couple of minor scratches, but nothing that affected the overall integrity of the unit itself. These are made well and they use a heavy gauge sheet metal when fabricating them. The welds are of very high quality as compared to other manufacturers such as the ones you can purchase off of Vevor which are made in china. You pay more with for the price but it’s all American made. The made in china models be ware. The weld processes aren’t of good quality control there and I’ve heard of people complaining about rattling sounds inside the tanks because of poor slag from the welds not properly cleaned off the weld before they do a final weld pass. These made in China versions have the welds that runs right down the center of the tanks instead of being offset like this one is. The wheels and handles are of good quality. The storage can moves easily enough. A word of caution, get a unit like this one that doesn’t have 4 casters on it. They are more prone to tipping over. The more wheels the more unstable. This unit is top notch. The pump is very well made too. You can feel the quality. The pump not only pumps into but siphons as well. Don’t be afraid to increase speed as you pump at first to get the air out. I also installed a filter system on mine that you can find on Northern Tools website. For me, I want good clean gas as I can get. I use mine mostly for filling my Generator and is a great safe way to store an emergency supply of fuel. They also have these for diesel fuel as well in yellow. You can use the red one for either but it’s better to be color coded for anyone not knowing what’s what when refueling and you will avoid mistakes. Hopefully this review helps someone. I had been looking at this product for some time when I came across the exact same unit locally. Except, the one I found and acquired was missing the handle for the pump, the ground cable was missing and it had the old plastic fuel gauge float. I called the John Dow company and inquired about purchasing the needed parts. To my astonishment they insisted on sending me all the parts needed, including shipping, at no cost to me. Everything arrived promptly and works perfectly. I've read numerous complaints about the leaking floats and about poor customer service. I can only surmise that those complaints were bogus or they were talking about one of the cheaper look-alikes and another company. From my recent experience I have to say that the John Dow company and their products are top-notch.
