Pretty easy and very good
Mostly the ones I have tried are delicious. it's true that not every one has hit the spot exactly but it's a good success rate for me. So far I have always found the ingredients easily. Ranges from suppers for one to social suppers. Vegetarian dishes, fish and meat. All quite manageable. I use Simple Suppers quite often.

Simple, ingenious and delicious results
An amazingly useful cook book from a great chef, full of delicious, eclectic recipes which are perfectly "manageable" providing you have a fairly decent store cupboard. I'm often put off recipes in cookbooks due to the bother of sourcing ingredients but most of what you need here is easily found in any local supermarket and won't cost the earth. Indeed, part of the book's great appeal is the fact that many of these recipes are composed of only about half a dozen ingredients. The desserts section is particularly ingenious, especially for someone like me who doesn't have much experience making puddings! I wouldn't want to be without this superb collection.

The best cookery book ever
I bought 2 recipe books as Christmas presents- this one and another one from a tv chef. The first book yielded only one recipe whereas this one ..! The recipes go on and on! If like me you have always associated Rick Stein with seafood recipes, be prepared for something different. This book is written in a chatty way, with recipes for all tastes using veg or fish or meat with lots of herbs and spices to maximise flavour. The recipes are easy to follow and easy to cook for just one-or two- or for friends. I have cooked 6 of the recipes already - and more earmarked to cook !

Full of tasty, easy to prepare recipes. Rickโs best book yet.
I have several of Rick Steinโs cookbooks but this is the one I use the most often. Every dish Iโve cooked from it has been delicious and easy to prepare. Firm family favourites include Cullen Skink, one-pot meatballs with tomato sauce and orzo, mushroom and thyme tart (although I use much less crรจme fraiche), beef stifado, lamb tagine with apricots, tartiflette and gratin of leek, cider and potatoes. I havenโt tried the desserts yet but I will!

Sensational
Sensational. The only trustworthy recipe books that I have, and I have many. This is my third book from the author and anything that I have made has been perfect, easy to cook, easy to follow and very very tasty :)

Rick, but easier
Always love a Rick Stein recipe book. Far Eastern Odyssey will remain my ultimate favourite, but what a useful book this is. This is the book I wanted Home to be. Itโs full of straightforward suppers and because itโs Rick (and Portia) you know they will work. There is no need to do a zillion things at once (Jamie) or buy ready made junk food shortcuts (except for sensible ones like pastry), but equally no need to be over involved. I felt the recipes were mainly new (unlike Home where I already owned all the best ones) and even Kapushka had been simplified - no need to find Turkish pepper paste any more-although if you do, itโs brilliant. 10/10 from me.

After open heart surgery.
I have been scolling through the book, more simple recipes and still the good old style, something I would look for everyday cooking.
