BESTEK 4 Way Extension Socket Power Strip Outlet with Surge Protection Individual Switches, 1.8M Extension Electric Cable

I'm quite a fan of BESTEK, having previously purchased several of the extension towers to protect my PC and TV areas. I think it's often something people overlook when buying extension cables. So many of these items are cheaply and poorly constructed from very poor materials - yet we trust our valuable technology with them.I decided a few years ago to make sure my PC (something I built and spent considerable money on the components for) should be protected from things like over-current (lightning surges for example) - I ordered a tower from BESTEK as they were well recommended and I thought it was excellent. Premium feeling, compact and reassuring that your devices are safe plugged in.I've since bought several more, however this time I was looking for an extension that can be secured flush to the wall. We have our fiber networking, routers etc under the stairs in our new house, and I'm looking to tidy up that area as currently various bits on the floor. I searched Amazon for a solution, a strip that can be secured to the wall, and offer similar protection I got with the towers. I was pleased to find that BESTEK do a strip too, and bought it with confidence that I would get a decent product.The quality is exactly as I'd expect. Solidly built, individual switches for each socket, plus USB connection for your mobile devices. (I'm intending to use the USB for my Ledlenser torch, which has a USB charging cradle it sits in). It has sunken holes on the back for wall mounting, which was my main interest in this specific version.You'll find it offers the usual protection you come to expect from a higher end strip - Over-current, over-voltage, surge/lightning, and over-temperature. All in a flame retardant shell made from solid ABS plastic. It also comes with a no-quibble 18m warranty.Do yourself a favour, if you're looking to protect pricey components - TV's, laptops, PC's etc - spend the extra £10 or so and buy a good quality extension strip like this. In the long run, if only for peace of mind, it's totally worth it.

Leds are near dead on switches

I never imagined that i would ever enthuse about a 4 gang extension socket, but I have to say I'm extremely pleased with this one from Bestek. Firstly, it arrived within 24hrs. of my placing the order. Secondly, it's very well made and, unlike all the others I've had over the years, it actually looks attractive. . . which counts for something as it's sitting in full view most of the time. Finally and most importantly it works faultlessly, and I really appreciate the individual, illuminated and widely spaced switches. And of course the high level of in-built protection. Strongly recommended.

I bought this to go behind my studio desk, and power a number of amps/speakers. It does exactly what I want, but an LED went out on one of the switches after about 4 weeks. It has taken me an age to report this via this review but I figured it was worth mentioning. Had the LED not died, I'd give this 5 stars. However, I have on occasion been caught out by the dead LED when I'm figuring out which amp/speaker set I'm powering or diagnosing why I may not be getting signal through a certain path. Basically it makes it look like a switch is off when in fact it is still on. This is probably not a big deal to most, but for me this small issue is an annoyance, exacerbated by the fact that a small amount of light still emanates from the inactive LED, which is actually the glow from the next switch along. It has lead to some head scratching moments!Maybe I should have returned it when I first realised but honestly, I didn't appreciate how bugging this tiny issue would become.In terms of everything else, I can't fault it
