Absolutely what I expected. The padding inside ensures the pieces don't rattle around (I carry this everywhere) and whilst I was concerned the pieces would stick together (as another review suggested) this isn't actually the case. Before you place the pieces on the board of course that happens, but when on the board the pieces adhere perfectly even when held upside down, but they don't "click" because of the magnetism, so it's not too strong and once on the board the pieces don't stick together at all. If you have oversized hands you may find the pieces a bit fiddly so perhaps may opt for a bigger board. I give it 4* and not 5 because the clip that holds it shut is a bit loose and doesn't stay shut sometimes. The pieces wouldn't fall out anyway, but, you know, finishing touches..

Nice item and quite good to look at. The magnets work very well. Good value.

Great for travelling

Magnetism works well. Very small pieces So there is a risk that you might lose them but haven't so far. Great travel chess set.
