The Mafia And His Angel: Volume 1 (Tainted Hearts) Paperback – 4 Aug. 2017

This was the first book of Lylah James’ that I’d read and I loved it.The switching perspectives of different characters really allowed me to get into each character’s head, even Alberto and Nikolay’s. The way that the story is written is beautiful. The emotions, the backstories, the relationships. They’re all tangible in a way. You can feel the characters emotions, feel their pain, and the snippets of backstory interspersed throughout allow for you to understand the whole character as the story goes on.The mafia aspect of it is great! And I love Alessio and Ayla’s characters. Alessio transforms from this cold-hearted killer to opening his heart to Ayla, unaware of her truth; Ayla is scared and has lived in fear for most of her life but when she’s with Alessio, she’s at peace. Their relationship is a beautiful disaster and imperfectly perfect.Secondary characters like Maddie, Viktor, Artur, Nikolay and Lena are amazing. They add little bits to the story like love, warmth, humour. Without them the story would feel incomplete.As this is part one, there’s obviously a cliffhanger and I can certainly say...I was shocked! Can’t wait to read the next one!

Omg what a brilliant first book, can’t believe the twists and how it ended, didn’t see that one coming. Definitely one to recommend, I am hoping Ayla and Alessio get their happy ending

I found this story a little slow in the middle but kept reading as both Ayla and Allessio are such lovely but damaged individuals due to past life experiences. I missed the fact that this story is told over three books so wouldn't have started it at all, but I am really glad I did as it pulls at your emotions and book one leaves you wanting more. I'm now eagerly about to start book two

I just can't seem to get my head around to finish this book, I am a bit disappointed. I have been trying really hard but it just doesn't really do it for me it stared off really great, then I just lost interest in the story line. I really hate when there is one Narrator, trying to be both Male and Female. The thing is I brought all 3 books and can not bring myself to finish the first one much less to the last two, just a waste of money as I also bought the audio books.

Omg just finished this and I need more I’ve read non stop and just love the story building well written and the character building is great …. Onto book 2 please say there is a part 2 out

i really enjoyed this book apart from all the crying which seemed to be on every page. i understand that she has suffered severe trauma but i dont think we went 2 minutes with out tears falling down her cheeks.i cant wait to see what alessio does when he finds out who she really is eeeekkkkim hoping part 2 is out soon because im not normally a fan of cliffhangers but ive got a feeling the cliffhanger isnt completely what we think it is.i would defo recommend this book but i would wait until the next book is out before you do as i wish i had done.

This book is dark, gritty and well written. The warning/disclaimer at the beginning is definitely worth a read as sensitive themes such as sexual assault are seen a few times. Ayla has a tormented past and present - but when she finally escapes she finds herself in the car of her family’s sworn enemy.... the sexual chemistry though!

Ok, so this is a new author for me, ive never read a book by this author before.But boy i wished i had, i have been missing out big time.I dived straight into this book after reading the blurb.I was not disappointed at all, it was full of dark twists and turns, and got darker throughout the book.I love all the characters especially the mafia boss alessio, he's tall dark and dangerous and i love it.Don't even get me started on the ending, i saw it coming but jeez was not expect who???? 😲😲5 well deserved stars, brilliant readWish me luck book 2 here i come 👍😝
