Works but give it time!
I had very small drip after some plumbing work and this stuff stopped it, but it took a couple days for it to work. Not perfect, but better than reworking the whole job.

fixed a pinhole leak in copper pipe
A few months ago we had a bad pinhole leak in a copper pipe near a wall stud and electrical box, inside the wall behind the bathroom vanity sink. We expected to have to open up the wall under the vanity and do cutting and soldering. Instead, after turning off the water, we dried then cleaned the pipe with sandpaper and vinegar. We cut off about 1/2" of the epoxy putty, mixed it for about a minute, then formed and pressed it around the pipe where the leak was. After about 2 hours, when we were sure the epoxy patch was hardened and sealed, we turned on the water. The leak was fixed, without any cutting and soldering! It is still fixed months later, with no problems so far.UPDATE: as of 12/1/08 the leak is still fixed. The putty is still working well and I would happily use it again if or when we spring another leak somewhere else in the plumbing.UPDATE: In 2011 the leak returned and we fixed it permanently with new pipe. This plumber's epoxy putty lasted over 3 years which isn't bad for a temporary fix. Considering we are on well water it is even more impressive.

Water has a way of defeating most patchwork
Slowed down the water leak on my food disposer but didn't stop it. Water always finds it way through the tiniest of cracks and channels. You could put 5 pounds of this stuff on whatever you're repairing but know that it's temporary and expect some degree of failure. In all fairness, the putty can't think for itself. It's not going to automatically fix a leak just because you followed the directions to a T. If it slows down a leak to a trickle so your catch bucket doesn't fill up near as fast, you win.

and they recommended this item for bathtub drain leaking
Mable I have used it at wrong place. I watched some video on Youtube, and they recommended this item for bathtub drain leaking. But it is hard to control, the drainer became to unbalanced when you push it, because the putty when to everywhere.I when to Home Deport and one guy there recommended me the "Silicone". The Silicone is much much easier to use.
