Good value for this quality drive
Good performance from this in my Synology NAS which is also acting as a CCTV system.Got 5 of these now and are all performing great. No issues so far.

6tb hard drive was very well packaged. Was used in a CCTV unit and is working fine, no problems and at a good price aswell.

Excellent, but one was faulty on arrival
Bought 5 of these for my CCTV system. Although one of them was faulty on arrival (made a loud noise like someone drilling into brick when powered on for the first time, repeatedly threw read/write IO errors) then failed within 24 hours and had to be returned, the rest are OK.

Bought this to replace a failing Seagate NAS HDD that was being used as video store of my CCTV system.The CCTV is running Blue Iris on Windows, and the PC is a Dell T20 with a Xeon E3-1226v3. It is fed by 3 HikVision 8MP cameras, recording 24/7.The WD Purple is quiet and runs cool, and has no problems keeping up with three camera feeds, and several users reviewing old footage at the same time.

Bad impression
I got that drive today . Not even working . I tried it many many times never working . I bought a special docking station to see if I can read it I.my laptop and still not working . I had to send it back and now I just waste time and I wait to get money back to buy another one . Very upset with this experience .

What can I say brilliant drive been using WD red's in my nas drive setup for 4 years no problems this purple drive going OK so far
