Good little radio lacking Base
Good compact size, colour nice although I did think facia would be all chrome but it was white with chrome knobs. I went for black wood effect to go with my kitchen. Very easy to set up. Not done an extensive test of battery life yet, when I've left unplugged (fully charged) 1 bar out of 3 have been used overnight on the battery ๐ indicator. I can get more channels than I need compared to my old radio, I can now get Gold (๐ฌ๐ง london), I live in Hertfordshire. Preset stations are easy to store, I didn't even need manual to help work through what radio functions do. In settings there are different sound modes (pop, classic, normal ect) BUT the base is not enough for my liking and it appears I can't give any more depth to sound. If you are in your 20's or even 30s this radio probably might not be for you. I'm 57 I do like a bit of boom! Anyway it's sufficient for my needs. I don't have the aerial fully up because my kitchen cabinets prevent that as there isn't as all round "pivot" but you still get a crystal clear sound. Unit is light and stations are displayed with what song is playing, time and date, love that feature as my old one didn't. You can dim display or off mode. I think this radio is great also coz I can link to my phone through Bluetooth but sound is lower than if I just had radio. I would rate this as a medium range quality but for price it's really good. Perhaps manufacture could introduce more base, I would be really happy then. Hope this helps you decide. UPDATE.. I forgot to switch on to charge, leaving power to drain but system goes into standby type mode. If you hold power button for a few moments it comes back on. At least I know how long battery lasts. I guess if you want to unplug and say have while your gardening eg on allotment I'd say 2-3 hours run time without electrickery.. ๐คญ๐ ANOTHER UPDATE: I've hooked Bluetooth to my PC and films sound better through radio. PC speakers are boosted with this little radio.

DAB radio.
I bought this for my wife for her birthday, she loves it, great sound, very easy to set up and use! Smart looking radio, also has a phono jack for earphones, wife loves it! It arrived in very good time and was well packaged.

Solid and Substantial Feel
Aesthetically pleasing and a solid substantial feel. Volume achieves decent levels before distortion (all amps distort at their upper end) and the size of the unit and speaker cone provides a sound with decent enough bottom end without it being described as hi-fi. It suffices for a 5 metre by 4 metre soft furnished room. The (sort of) tower design reduces surface footprint but obviously the absolutely best thing about the design for a perpetual boy is that it's face looks like a 1950's robot. It's worth buying for that aspect alone to be honest. Two minor negatives:- 1. It didn't auto change the time today at the start of BST. An easy manual change though. 2. Bluetooth is as receiving paired device hence I was unable to pair with my sound bar which behaves in a similar manner. Cabling is an option to achieve that but that's not something I want to do.

Fantastic radio at a great price
The radio looks great with a nice blend of an old fashioned and modern style and appears to be easy to wipe clean. Handy in a kitchen environment. The sound quality is really good for the price and size of radio, which is helped by the subwoofer at the back. DAB auto-scan function was very easy to run and found all the channels I would want, with no need to move the radio around to find a signal or extend the aerial. FM had a number of stations all ready available, however auto-scan for others was easy. Bluetooth was straightforward to set up a connection to my mobile phone. Noticed the volume on the radio was quieter with this connection, then realised my mobile phone volume was low and could be adjusted, or just have the radio volume increased. Setting the alarm was straightforward, it has a minimum of 15 minutes of ringing/music and you can set the volume maximum you want the alarm to sound at. It increases in volume and gradually reaches this limit. You can dim the digital display as the default is quite bright and the remote control is very handy. The setting up of station presets was a little tricky at first and I spent 10 minutes trying to do the first one. Finally I realised that to set up the preset you need to first find the channel you want, then press and HOLD the Preset button and then press Enter. If you do a short press of the Preset button, it will just act as a function to navigate to which station you have already stored. I can understand why this proves very frustrating initially, as the instructions don't make this distincton that clear. Overall, I think this is a fantastic radio for the price, with good sound, nice large front display of station, song and artist.

High spec DAB/FM radio for a great price.
I'm absolutely delighted with my latest purchase. I wanted a decent DAB radio to replace my existing one, which had started to reverberate inside its case when turned up to even a moderate volume. However, I couldn't afford a really expensive one, and finding this Azatom at less than ยฃ40 was a boon. It looks much more expensive, and certainly has all the features one requires in a modern radio. Upon opening the box, the radio already contained sufficient charge to set the time and scan for all the available stations. When I plugged in the USB charger it took less than half an hour to fully charge, and, having disconnected the cable, it seems to be holding the charge really well. The radio is in the kitchen and I turn it on every time I go in there, so it's in use for about an hour to two hours a day, and after three days still shows a full battery. A quick glance at the very clear instructions and I had all my favourite stations on DAB and FM preset in a matter of minutes. As for the sound, it's full and rich - really excellent for a relatively small radio. I'm guessing the presence of a sub-woofer makes all the difference and it certainly is a delight to be able to turn up the radio and listen to good music and the spoken word in such clear terms. An added bonus is the double-ended aux jack, which allows me to plug my phone or iPod into the radio to conveniently and quickly listen to my favourite recorded music. It looks great too; a lovely black ash casing, with bright, shiny fascia, which goes perfectly with my black and white kitchen. Its small footprint on my windowsill also clears up much needed space. All in all, this is a brilliant radio for the price - I had also looked at more expensive ones before choosing, but I can't imagine they would be any better than the Blackfriars. I highly recommend this item.

Good build quality.
Looked at other radios of a similar size and style, and after reading reviews we decided to order the Azatom Blackfriars 2. So far it's been very good. Quite easy to navigate the control system if you read the booklet thoroughly, and keep it handy for reference. Sound quality is quite good considering the size and price bracket. Battery life is very good after receiving a full charge, at over 12 hours, so very useful due to the portability of the radio. Overall, very pleased with the purchase so far.

Brilliant little radio with Bluetooth
This is a great radio with a small footprint that fits well on my bedside table. With 30watts it has much more power than the majority of it's competitors. In my opinion it has a good sound with plenty of bass so it doesn't sound tinny. There is a good selection of preset equaliser settings so you can adjust it to your particular preference. The bluetooth connection works perfectly and the DAB reception is strong. I realise that reception varies according to your local area but I don't have to use the extendable aerial with this radio when I have with others. I particularly like the alarm settings, you can chose to wake to an alarm tone or the radio and this starts off quietly and gradually increases to you chosen volume so it doesn't startle you awake. There are two separate alarms. I have set mine at 7am for the week and a slightly later one to go off at the weekend which I think is a great feature. On top of all that It looks really good too.

Battery life is poor
Great, looking and great sound but battery life is terrible. We only use it in morning in en-suite for showering, so 15 minutes maybe 20 in total. It only last 2 to 3 days so literally around an hour.
