What are the ingredients?

The mastic contains alpha-mastihoretin, β-mastihoretin, essential oil, tannins, mastichin and mastic acid, unique terpenes such as α-pinene, β-mycene, β-karyophyllene, limonene and polyphenols.this means it is pure chios mastic as it comes out of the tree...there are no contaminants other chemical or allergenic substances..its a natural 100%

Do I have to wash the gum before use?

I did not ever wash gum, but that was pre covd. This is a hand picked item from greece, so consider that please. I think I mite now. Good luck feel better.

Expire? No. *

Best before? Yes but it depends on how you store it. Don’t let it get too hot and turn into one lump. If you’re going to bring it with you somewhere you might want to wrap a few "tears" into small packs of wax paper and place into small reusable containers. Depending on your preference, temperature, etc lining the container with wax paper,  then a sprinkle of xylitol, sugar (if you have IBS- *sigh*), ghee, butter, or coconut oil if they don’t break it down…

Don’t mistreat the product, then post a rant saying "don’t buy". That’s not a review and it’s abusive to everyone- growers, packers, seller and potential buyers looking for information.

* What’s with Americans believing stuff is going bad when it hits a certain date? Food waste is the largest contributor to global heating and planetary damage.

Can this be used as chewing gum right out of the bag?

It is commony used as a chewing gum in Greece and Turkey after mixing it with some beaswax.  Experiment with the mastic/wax ratio.  You blend the two in your mouth by chewing them together until the right cnsustency is achieved.  If you do not add wax, mastic will stick to your teeth.
