This beautiful cedar trimmed hanging bird bath works well hung from a tree or hook, and the chain is zinc coated, so it will not rust over time. The tray is removeable and replaceable, for easy cleaning.

Nice size bath. Love the cedar base
I have this bath hanging right outside my work-from-home office window. It took a bit of time to get it balanced when I first hung it, but I've added some stepping stones and a solar fountain to get the bath balanced. It took a dive during a storm when the hanging hook it's attached to came loose. The cedar frame was easy enough to repair, but the plastic dish has a small hole in the side now. The plastic is pretty thin in the dish. I will either try to repair or replace the pan, but overall, I'm really happy with my new bird-watching toy. It's a nice backyard feature.

Birds Enjoy, Bath Lovely to Admire
Not only do our backyard birds enjoy it, we enjoy the way it looks hanging from old fig tree. Tips on cleaning and filling:Place low enough that you can reach the edge of wooden holder but as high as possible out of any predator's reach. To empty, stand back as far as you can and quickly tilt holder away from you, with a quick step back!To clean, which I have found quite easy, use jet setting on hose sprayer to wash away bird droppings on edge of holder and inside the pan. Just a couple of jets into dish will rid it of that rather nasty green tinge left by wet bird poop.Place hose sprayer on Shower setting and refill. All of this is possible for me despite being slightly handicapped, whereas I was not able to reach our previous waterer without climbing, which I can no longer safely so.I find that going through this ritual every two to three days will keep dish and holder fresh and clean for our beautiful birds who bring us such joy.

Disappointed for what I paid - hanging clip bent right away
Well, the pros are that it’s easy to lift out the tray out to clean it, and the terra-cotta color hides dirt. And I like that it’s designed such that the tray fits in with no gaps anywhere between it and the frame. That was a major selling point for me. The fact that it’s wood means it’s easier for the birds to grasp with those little claws! So I paid more for it than I would have to buy a competitors’ similar bird bath. But the hooks on the ends of the hanging chains...one bent within a month so the bath isn’t level anymore. I assume this happened due to dumping dirty water from and removing the tray to clean it, which I do every few days at the least.I removed the clip to re bend it (which wasn’t working out well for me) and promptly butter fingered it an unknown distance somewhere into the seed hulls and the loosely stacked landscape stones in that area of my yard. Can’t find it. I did a temporary fix with a bread bag tie but that’s not working out you can see it in my picture - its silver like the hooks. I included a closeup of one of the hooks. Now I need to remove the chain assembly and take it to the hardware store to find something the right size to replace the 3 hooks. What a pain, plus a small extra expense! I’m not happy!

Attractive practical and sturdy
This is a fine birdbath, and birds of all sizes are enjoying it. In the winter it didn’t get as cold as my metal bath because of the plastic liner which is easily removable for cleaning. It holds a lot of water so there’s no need to constantly refill. In below freezing temps I switched to a heated bath and used this one for feeding. It holds a ton of black oil sunflower and the birds were up off the ground safe from my neighbors cat, they loved it more as a feeder than a bath I think. Highly recommend this attractive bath.

Easy to clean as the pan lifts out
Exactly what I was looking for. I followed others advice and applied a couple of coats of poly to extend the life as it is unfinished wood and I was afraid of warping. Took a couple of weeks for my birds to use it but now they do regularly. Easy to clean as the pan lifts out. Not heavy when full with the plastic dish and the birds are able to get a good grip on the edges and bottom of the pan. Curious about replacement dish as this plastic will not last. Good buy but a little pricey for the quality. Worth it overall.

So happy with this purchase!
We recently purchased this hanging bird bath and are so happy that we did. The birds can perch on the redwood holder if they want, and the 17-inch dish is a great size, not too deep, and large enough to add a water wiggler in the middle of the dish to create the water movement that birds love so much. The water dish is plastic and "pops out" of the frame for easy cleaning and filling. As another reviewer indicated, we also took the time to apply a couple of coats of clear sealer to the wood frame to hold up better against the hot California summers. Please note: when the bowl is full of water, this bird bath will put a good amount of stress on the hanger, so make sure you've got it hanging from a good sturdy support hook or pole system. .

The birds love their new bath
Received this item - nothing to assemble - just hang it where you want it and add water or bird seed. It can be used as a feeder or bird bath. The pan in the middle can easily be removed to clean; it is a hard plastic so I don't have to worry about it breaking like my glass bird baths did. Loving this Hanging Classic Cedar Bird Bath!

LOVE THIS! Just the right depth for smaller birds to bathe in
This is my favorite hanging bird bath... just the right depth for smaller birds like finches, swallows - and even Hummingbirds - to splash around in... or drink from.Only problem is the cedar base is a cleaning problem. In order to keep clean and healthy for use, you need to soft scrub the bird droppings off the cedar base, which not only absorbs the water/cleaner, but causes roughened patches if trying to remove lots of dropping. It would be nice if the base were roughened plastic for easier cleaning and longer lasting, but other than that, this is my favorite of this type. Insert nice and easy to keep clean.
