I purchased this to send hot lunches (soups, chilli, etc.) in my kids lunch over the winter. The quality is 10/10. It keeps his soup hot-so hot that sometimes it is still warm AFTER school (and he has to "blow" on it while eating it at lunch time). The lid is tight and secure-we have had no spills or explosions. Pro tip: boil water, put boiling water in food jar, put on lid, wait 1 minute while warming soup (or chili), dump boiling water out, fill with hot lunch. Easy!
