Late Night Tales: The Cinematic Orchestra [VINYL]

I'm a lifelong fan of the Cinematic Orchestra. The lounge kings of after hour downtempoe grooves and the some what dated chillout tag. From the Late Night tales series of DJ outfits influences. I have found nothing more accurate than the heavy influences compiled here that reflect on helping influence such masterpieces as my favourite the dark jazzy Motion album with Eddie Gale's Rain and The Freedom Sound. Whilst Nick Drakes Three Hours,Terry Callier ,Thom Yorke and Bjorke associated with the more acoustic indi direction of Ma Fleur whilst EveryDay was a more diverse journey associated with the classically haunting Imogen Heap and Flying Lotus. The selection is awesome and directly associated with Swincoes superb leftfield downtempoe outfit and even the more popular St Germaine Rose Rouge and Sebastian Tellier's tracks selections don't sound out of place surrounded by such an excellent obscure selection , my only confusion is See Line Woman by The Songstress title mix which I'm certain is another mix of the original originally recorded by the great Nina Simone and later remixed by Masters at Work, and the Will Self talking book selection ? All in all a platinum selection for the after hours to play along side The Cinematic's Motion, Every day and Ma fleur. Don't let this one get away !

Truly awesome mix..,.. even Nick Drake gets a look in!

For those of you who own the CD and fancy upgrading to the joy of vinyl it's important to know that the vinyl is very different to the CD - a fraction of the songs are included on the record. Even still, well worth the purchase. So good on Vinyl. The best Late night tales I've heard.

I checked the track listing before deciding to buy, and at number 15 is La Ritournelle by Sebastien Tellier, which persuaded me that I have to have the record. Quite a variety of tracks in general.

I love this compilation...all the selected tracks create fabulous atmosphere...cannot stop listening to it...it is not one of those jazz only CDs so if you are after one type of music it might not be for you...but stay open minded...it shows you what else is there...I have definitely found some new musical inspirations here...highly recommend it!!!

A good listen

This Late Night Tales is the perfect example of what this compilation series is about. All of the tracks flow beautifully. My favourite out of all of them so far.

Fantastic and imaginative selection of tracks from diverse artists who, if unknown to you, will encourage you to find out more about them. Highly recommended.

The Cinematic Orchestra est l'auteur de plusieurs albums de studio à posséder avant celui-ci, par exemple "Motion", "Everyday" ou "Ma Fleur", pour citer quelques-uns que les plus connus. Il ne s'agit donc pas de compositions originales, mais pour autant on est loin des remixes bouches-trous pour albums pop/RnB indigents, et ce sont des classiques plutôt bien revisités. À côté des reprises électro comme Bjork, St. Germain ou Sébastien Tellier et son entêtante "Ritournelle", d'autres choix sont plus audacieux, ceux par exemple de Steve Reich, compositeur minimaliste américain, ou de Nick Drake, un chanteur folk anglais mort quasi-inconnu au début des années 70, qu'on ne cesse de redécouvrir depuis, au point qu'il a influencé quantité de musiciens anglo-saxons depuis lors. Mieux, The Cinematic Orchestra parvient à donner un son homogène à des musiques éclectiques, et si ce n'est pas le disque de la décennie, il complète agréablement leur riche discographie.

Excellent album! Great selection of tracks, available in full length on the vynil and in the Late Night Tales' compiled format in the attached CD.

AWESOME ALBUM! Great to listen to with all the lights out and just chilling.

El vinilo indica que viene con un CD que no viene en mi producto, además el disco no trae el tema que más me gusta The Rain the Eddie Gale, a pesar de que en la parte trasera de la cubierta menciona el tema, increible que saquen la versión vinilo y no pongan todos los temas. El sonido del disco muy bueno, pero los detalles mencionados anteriormente desilucionan a cualquier colecionista.
