J. R. Liggett Jojoba and Peppermint Shampoo Bar

I had never used a shampoo bar but wanted to get away from all the chemicals that are in most shampoos. At first, it left my hair feeling straw-like. I then started doing an apple cider vinegar/water rinse after and then my hair would feel waxy. I have fine, thick,straight hair. Finally I started rinsing my hair with the apple cider vinegar/water rinse first, rinsing that out, and then washing only my roots with the J.R. Liggett's jojoba & peppermint shampoo. A huge improvement. It took about 3 weeks for my hair not to seem really tangled after washing. Sometimes I still have a few dry spots. I use part coconut oil/water to spritz onto the dry areas. Once you get the hang of it, your hair looks healthy without all of the chemicals. Just give it time and try different methods.

My hair is long (mid-back), very thick and curly/wavy, and I use color. I had been using J.R. Liggett's Original shampoo bar for a few months and was happy with the product itself, but I wasn't crazy about the fragrance (it smells like rose perfume, of which I'm not a huge fan), so I decided to give this a try. I LOVE this fragrance! Fresh and minty, it has abundant lather and leaves my hair feeling clean, soft and shiny. With an apple cider vinegar rinse (about 1/3 strength), I don't need any conditioner--really, just try it! My hair has seriously never looked better, without ANY product at all. And the best part: because it has zero detergents, it doesn't strip my color! That is huge for me, since red is the hardest color to maintain! I'm super happy with this, and will probably never go back to traditional shampoo again.

I love shampoo bars, but this one is not for fine hair. I have a lot of hair but it is fine. I used this three separate times and was unable to get it all rinsed out. I rinsed and rinsed. When I dried my hair it felt greasy, and as if there was build up. I ended up reshampooing my hair each time with another product. This shampoo bar may be better for thick, really dry or curly hair

Just horrible.

I am conducting a trial of shampoo bars and the J.R. Liggett Jojoba and Peppermint bar is the first to be eliminated.Other reviewers had commented on its small size---and it is small compared to the others. But, the flaw that got it eliminated is the way it makes my eyes sting!Yes, getting soap in one's eyes is never pleasant, but some ingredient in this bar makes my eyes sting in a new and harsh way! Why put up with that when other bars don't have that flaw?

Ok shampoo, the smell is nice and it made my hair soft for the first week, but as I continued using it I found it made my hair very hard to brush through.
