Hi, what is the difference between a 288 regular ink versus 288 xl?

Hi Silvi A., The difference between the Epson 288 and 288 XL DURABrite® Ultra pigment ink is the ink amount that each of the ink cartridges contains. The Epson 288 is a Standard Capacity while the 288XL is High Capacity ink cartridge that produce 2.5x more prints compared to the Standard. Please go to the Epson website for further information. Hope this helps! - The Epson Team

Do I need also to buy other colors ink if I only need to print in black? I mean will the printer work with only black?

If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. See further info on this link: https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd52728/source/printers/source/ink_functions/container_topics/printing_expended_color_ink_container.html

Will the 288xl fit a epson xp-446 printer?

According to the Amazon web site it will fit. However you should go to Amazon yourself and check for xp-446 compatible ink cartridges.

will this work on epson xp-440?

Hi Michelle D., Yes, Epson T288XL120 DURABrite works with Epson Expression Home XP-440 Small-in-One Printer. Hope this answers your inquiry! - The Epson Team
