Excellent hobbyist NAS
Good form factor. Needed to buy the rackmount kit from their store directly to fit in my rack

Love it
Great, quick system. Well built. One thing to think about is the rails. I guess qnap sells a rail set for it, but I just used a generic set of rails. The system has nubs on the side of it for interfacing with the qnap sold rail set. These could potentially cause a problem setting it on your rails because of the added width. I was able to adjust my rails wide enough to work.

Great upgrade for SOHO application
I purchased this to upgrade from a TS-453D. here are my observations:PRO - Quality construction on par with the quality from the TS-453D.PRO - Quiet! I expected it to be much louder and it is barely noticable in a quiet office/room.PRO - The additional drive bays. This is the main reason for purchase.PRO - PCI-e slot is gen3x4 - faster than the PCI-e slot on the TS-453D which is 2x2. So QM2 NVME card will be able to take advantage of the additional bandwidth.PRO - Rack mount. Ready for rails if I want to purchase them. I do not have it racked yet.PRO - Two USB-A 3.2 ports. I will use these for expansion when the time comes.PRO - Individual disk LEDs on each drive tray. This is not new for QNAP devices, but a nice touch.PRO - Still sips power according to the load on my UPS about 70W at full load with drives a being accessed.PRO - Short depth is perfect. about 1/4" deeper than my UniFi Dream Machine ProPRO - Temps at while multitasking (CPU 59C / Disks Avg 40C / System 36C) Fans Speed ~1900RPM measurements at ambient room temp 70F and humidity ~27% according to my UPS envirosensor.CON - Amazon shipping was not good. This is really kind of hit/miss and can happen with any purchase.CON - Single PCI-e slot even though there are two knockouts on the rear of the chassis. QNAP why?One tip:If you are upgrading and plan on selling your other QNAP NAS, remember to release any licenses registered on it that you may have before you sell it or trade it. Even though the exFat license is pretty cheap and only a one-time purchase, it is permanently tied to your QNAP ID with no real way to release it once you no longer have the old NAS. I just paid the $4-5 for the additional license. With the additional features and capacity I am able to consolidate some VMs I have and setup some containers to do away with some microservices I have hosted on raspberry Pi's.*** UPDATE ***Installed 32GB of RAM (2x16GB). Works perfectly.*** UPDATE 10/31/2023 ***I just purchased a second one of these to use for a replicated backup target and container redundancy. I added the QM2-344A dual NVME card and moved all ContainerStation, VirtualizationStation and Plex to the NVME RAID1 Storage pools. Both units have been flawless.

You can't help but love it!
This thing is replacing my TS 653 eventually. It is whisper quiet sitting right beside me. It is a faster Celeron than the 653 and it uses metal trays instead of plastic brackets. It gives my system a nice look. One thing all should be aware of is that the holes for the rack mount are smaller than the regular rack screws so keep that in mind. I thought of deducting a point, but I didn't. Otherwise, All the "Pro's" mentioned before are all true. I didn't increase the memory as I bought the 8 GB model, and I did not get from Amazon, though the price is comparable.
