brilliant choices of patterns - therapeutic colouring
This book is turning into one of the books I go to the most lately. I find the spaces easy to colour without having to put in too much effort. It is ideal for when I feel stressed. It is the perfect de-stress colouring book for me at the moment. The repetition in the patterns are very therapeutic and relaxing to colour. The designs are all very different but consistent shapes of geometric patterns that are all lovely. The paper is white with black printing and it has been nicely printed. The pages are not perforated so you would need to take care removing them from the book. It is also suitable for all types of levels of colouring as well as mediums such as colouring pencils, pens, watercolour pens and pencils and if you use alcohol markers then you just need to be careful as the ink will bleed through. The design are all on right hand side of the book and blank on the reverse.I have added some photographs.

No fiddly bits, just soothing blocks of colour
Having got myself into this adult colouring craze lately, I've been looking at many different books. This one is by far my favourite so far - I love the patterns. They're not dainty and pretty like many others - there's a place in the world for dainty, pretty pictures, but sometimes you just want bold, blocks of colour. The designs are striking and take some working out sometimes in order to get the colours in the right places on the pattern, which seems like a bonus exercise for my brain. The paper does seem to be a bit thinner than other books I have, but the patterns are only printed on one side so if colours come through (which they haven't so far, and I'm using brand new 'wet' pens), it wouldn't damage another pattern. Also, it's quite a thin book - I could happily pay more to get more pages, but as it is the price is reasonable for this.

Great start point
Love the Elizabeth James series of books. I think they provide a great entry point for those new to colouring. I also find them great if I wish to colour a simple pattern or to crack out the sharpies as the images are single sided so I don't have to worry about bleed through. At first glance I must admit I was concerned with the quality of paper but I have found no bleed through (unless heavily colouring over the same spot with pens). These are all single sided and there about 30 images so yes there are more substantial books at a similar price point on Amazon but I would say that if you are starting they are great as some of the more popular established books may feel daunting for someone new to adult colouring. These books are nice and light so if you want to carry them around they are also great for that.

So relaxing whilst recovering from injury!
I absolutely loved this colouring book. I am using mindfulness to help me recover with a back injury and one of the ways I am doing this is through colouring in. It definitely has has a positive impact on my mental wellbeing in managing chronic pain. Geometric shapes I find particular effective at distracting me from my pain. Why I quite honestly don't know, but I'm so glad I've found something that does.
