Ohrex truck sat nav.
Cheap and cheerful. Does what it’s supposed to do and for the money you can’t go wrong. It feels cheap compared with ones I’ve used in the past but when you are paying £180 less and £350 less than I’ve paid before what do you expect.

It's cheap, it works, price makes the niggles worthwhile as long as you keep that in mind
This sat nav is priced at the low end of such devices. I need one for my motorhome that allows me to input vehicle dimensions so a basic car-only solution doesn't work. I've tried the premium versions from Tom Tom and Garmin and found them highly flawed (in the case of the former a melt-down during it's scheduled update rendered it useless after just 30 months, £300 down the drain with no recompense from the company). So a few years back I bought one called 'XGody' [XG] on a well-known online sales channel beginning with 'e'.That's pertinent because this one, branded OHREX [OH] is exactly the same device, they must just brand them differently for each channel? So effectively this review tells you my experience of using both versions over about 3 years. Why did I need to replace the XG? a number of reasons. 1) The promised map updates never worked. Either by accident or design it was impossible to load these. 2) customer service was useless, 'send it back to china at your own expence' is their default. 3) increasingly frequent crashes, especially when restarting during a long trip. While researching alternatives I came across the OH and thought it looked the same but still cheap so took a punt anyway. I figured if it was as bad as the XG I could get a rapid refund via Amazons vaunted returns policy.Yes, it is the same device, different branding and with a marginly improved operating system. I've used it for about 6 weeks including some 1000's of miles driving in Europe. Pleased to say the crashes have been reduced to occasional. The big decider for buying this is that OH appear to have a UK base now according to other reviews and their own material. Certainly my one contact via email was answered promptly. The (very limited) info is written in better English and more helpful. Other reviewers have also suggested they were able to get the map updates. We shall see.As far as function is concerned, you have to bear in mind this is essentially a large vehicle device so some navigation and quirks relate to that. It's sometimes frustrating that it selects a weird route until you realise it's default is to take HGV's the safest way. Other times it wants to send you down an unsuitable road as it probably thinks that's the most convenient. Once it wanted me to take a road I know well as having a low bridge that would destroy my motorhome! I rechecked and my dimensions are entered correctly so that's a worry.Big niggle is there's a delay at critical times, say when negotiating a roundabout the maps don't really help you know which exit to take, you have to listen to the instructions and check carefully before entering. Also it will say "turn in 100 feet" when you are actually on the turning already. Generally you have to be aware of these issues and make sure you are constantly on the ball. One thing I find all sat navs suffer from is on starting they need you moving before they get which way you are pointing. This one is the same but slightly better, however it does mean you will find yourself turning right rather than left more than once! Finally, be aware that each time you restart, there's a good chance it has adjusted the route, you have to really check carefully, I had a recent journey extended by 200 miles because of this, no lie.So there's an honest review. I'd happily pay a lot more for a device that did everything well, been there done that and found out none of them do. At least this cheap alternative means it won't leave you angry when the inevitable issues arise.
