improvement noticed
After only one week of usage I've seen (and felt) the effect. Used it together with the Manuka RX Pro - Day Cream.

Feels Nice, Bold Scent
I've been trying out a lot of different serums that are made to work in different ways. As I'm aging I've noticed some fine lines, uneven skin tone, and the quality of my skin seeming to change at the drop of a hat. Some serums I've liked and others have left me feeling lacking. This one is pretty nice, but I'm not totally sold on the smell. This serum comes in a glass vial with a pump top. There's a little cap that prevents the top from being pressed down accidentally. It took quite a lot of pumps before the product came out of the bottle (like, over 20, easily) and I nearly gave up before it started to come out. Once the bottle was primed the product came out without any issues. The serum itself is a creamy yellow color and has a nice consistency. It's not thin but isn't gel-like either. It's a pretty typical consistency for a serum. The product feels nice when applied to the face after cleansing and doesn't take long to absorb into the skin. There's no tacky or greasy feeling left behind, which is something I always appreciate. The scent surprised me. It's a lot more bold than I'm used to for a product like this. It has a citrusy scent but rather than being vibrant and refreshing, it's sort of flat. I didn't care for it, especially because I use serums like this in the morning and at bedtime. During the day it didn't bother me as much, but it was all I could smell as I was trying to fall asleep. It seems to be of good quality and I really do like the way it made my skin feel. I just wish it didn't have such a strong scent.

I just can't get past the unpleasant smell
I feel torn between the way the product performs and the smell on how many stars to rate it for my review. Opening the bottle I do get a slight citrus orange smell BUT every time I am applying it to my skin and rubbing it in I get this smell like well sour milk or something sour. It's very unappealing and I kept getting faint whiffs of it the rest of the night it was on my face even when I finally went to bed.It does in fact make my face feel extremely soft and so I know it's doing a good job as far as effectivness but I kept going back to it just isn't worth putting up with the fragrance. And yes I believe it is an important aspect if a product is displeasing because it has a fragrance but works you just aren't going to want or continue to use it. Which sadly for me I have to say is the case with the ManukaRx Skin Brightening Vitamin C Serum. So I'm basing the number of stars on it's smell as much as I don't like doing it.

Vitamin C?
I've never been a big fan of Vitamin C serums. Mostly because my skin has minimal discoloration so it never seemed worth the bother keeping the notoriously unstable product on hand. Plus, it can cause minor skin irritation, and since I already use acid peels and retinoids, I didn't think it was worth piling more irritants into the mix. I decided to try this because I know how healing manuka honey is so I thought it might be nice to add it to my skincare routine, plus the honey might mitigate any potential irritation caused by the Vitamin C.So far, I really like this. It's a mid-weight consistency that applies with a bit of slip but no stickiness. After a few minutes it's entirely absorbed, leaving my skin soothed, smooth and slightly bouncy. It contains a citrus peel oil (which research indicates is used primarily for fragrance) that gives it a pleasant lemon/orange aroma. After using this for about two weeks (evenings only), I feel as if it's made improvements in my skin's tone and texture. All that said, in checking the ingredient list there doesn't seem to be any actual Vitamin C in here. Certainly, not in any recognizable topical form - L-Ascorbic Acid, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl-6-Palmitate, etc. Not sure what to make of that, but there it is. Still highly recommended.

Horrible smell!
When I put this on, it feels like a good serum, but I just can’t get past the smell. At first, I thought I smelled a slight citrus-y smell, but I think that was just my brain trying to protect me from the actual smell that gives me a “stale baby”, slightly vomity sort of smell. It is yucky! I won’t be able to use it. I tried it again a day later and shook it well, thinking maybe it had separated and I was getting a bad part, but nope…it still smelled awful to me. The “best by” date is 01/26, so I don’t think it is rancid, it just doesn’t smell good (or tolerable) enough for me to use.

Nice Serum
My Skin Type: Pale, dry, sun-damaged, sensitive, prone to rednessMy Typical AM Facial Routine: Wash/exfoliate, serum, moisturizer with SPF or if without, apply sunscreen on top of moisturizerMy Typical PM Facial Routine: Clean with Micellar water/reusable cotton pad, serum, heavier overnight moisturizerMy Review of this product: This serum came in a nice package with a removable cap that prevents the accidental dispensing of the product. It took several pumps to get the product to dispense even in such a small bottle. The color of the serum was yellow but that didn't transfer to my skin. The scent is slight of citrus, not overly strong for me but some might not tolerate it as well. The scent didn't linger once it dried on my skin. Like most good serums, this absorbed quickly into my skin, did not leave any sticky residue, and left my face feeling hydrated. The long-term benefits are yet to be seen but Vitamin C is great as long as it retains its potency when exposed to the air.

My New Favorite Serum
This is easily my new favorite serum. First, I absolutely love the scent. It is not a strong scent, but it faintly smells of an orange blossom and honey. I find it really relaxing to smell when applying. Second, I love the level of moisturizing it gives. It’s a serum that goes on before moisturizing, but it does have a nice moisturizing quality itself. And the third and best thing I love is that it really does work. I have noticed my skin is brighter than a week ago. I have sensitive skin and I have not had any irritation. It just overall helps to give my skin a glowing quality.
