Rock solid ๐ฅUPDATE ๐ฅ
Excellent much better then the cleats I have. Comfortable no SLIPPAGE, fish a lot in rivers. Compared to the cleats these are so much better. Didn't slip once.they don't gather silt and mud as well as on the inside. The sole looks solid will see how it holds up. They are very comfortable went with my shoe size and the fit is fine. Could've went up in size but there fine. Price is fair so if they last 2 season or more money well spent. If I remember...if.. I'll update my review late fall. Very pleased and again there better than the cleats. I was confident in the water with each step an not slipping. I would recommend them.from May to October they held up fabulously. Put a lot of miles and hours of wear on them. Only issues laces wore out and they take forever to dry. I'll stand by my review I like em' ๐ ๐ฅUPDATE ๐ฅ JUNE 22ND 2025 Still look like new Lotta wear Lotta use. I would definitely buy another pair when they get around to wearing out.๐ฅanother update๐ฅ june 20th 2026 the felt just came undone on the right boot and the left is showing the start of coming apart.

Great fit, good price, very lightweight, and performed well in the river.
I bought these wading boots for a trout fishing trip in North Carolina. They fit great and worked great with my warders. We were in a rather swift, sometimes hip deep river. The felt bottom really helped grip the slippery rocks. They made me feel much more secure with my foot placement. NOTE to self and warning to you. The felt sole DOES NOT grip well on steep leaf covered banks. Ask me how I know? Yes, I busted my tail hard and twice, trying to get down to the river. But once I was on the rocks or in the river I was fine. The size runs pretty true so order your regular boot size and you should have plenty of room for your neoprene wader stocking. The boots drain water good and they dried out overnight. These are great boots for a good price. Overall I do recommend these boots.

Great investment
These are great boots that dry quickly and are light compared to your typical boot. Pair these with your favorite wadders and you will stay nice and dry all day. They have plenty of traction and the sizing is spot on. Please keep in mind that these are made for wadders with socks already installed and you probably want to wear real socks in your wadders so the boots need to roomy for their size.

Better than expected.
This is my initial review of these boots. I'm new to the whole fly fishing/tenkara thing, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on boots to start with. I heard good things, and the reviews were pretty positive about the Frogg Toggs Hellbenders. I used them for the first time yesterday and I was not disappointed. I bought the felt bottom boots because I was told you'd get better traction with the felt. During this first use they did not slip or lose traction at any point. I bought one size up (14US) from my normal shoe size (13US). These boots were quite comfortable, even while hiking the trail in/out. They felt lighter than I thought they would, and they tied up nice and tight. For the price, I don't think your going to find a better boot in this price range. In all, I was quite happy with their performance. I will update my review as time goes on and as they wear.

Super light and roomy
This is my first pair of wading boots, so I don't have much too compare them too, but I liked the construction and the fit. The price was great too. These boots come big, with plenty of room for a stocking foot wader. They are very light weight, so I plan on wearing thick wool socks in cold water, but they should be comfortable in warmer water too with regular socks. The sole was soft and sticky, and it had bosses for cleats if you so desire. I'll be using these for a week of river fishing in August in Alaska so I'll update this review if anything changes. Update: I wore these boots 10-12 hours a day in Alaska. They were very comfortable whether I was fishing from a skiff or walking a stream. The material allows them to dry fast, and they are very lightweight. The leather boots some of my buddies wore were heavy and took forever to dry. And they didn't take up much of my alotted weight in my luggage. I definitely recommend these.

Best price wading boots for the money
I have already purchased four boots and I use them strictly for trout fishing and hiking the mountains to get to my streams . I purchased the felt pair and I use them especially steelhead and trout stream fishing. The average lifespan of a felt boot is about two 2 1/2 years ,yes, if you're an avid fisherman and fish at least 50 times a year for the price they are worth it. I purchased more than a pair for the simple fact that I will not be replacing the felt with new felt frog toggle a very good boot. I would rather do the felt which is a safer material on slimy rocks. Granted, it can be kind of tough on grassy Meadows, for there is no grip on the boot , the only thing I would recommend with these boots is to replace the insoles as they could be worn out quickly. Idid have a Redington Skagit boot with a sticky rubber bottom, which did not work on the river bottoms, even with spikes the metal spikes did wear down and it became more of a hazard to wear them so I am now strictly a felt guy any kind of boot with felt regardless if itโs frog togg, Simms, or an Orvis boot . Frog tog boot is a good quality boot, and like I said, itโs never fell apart on me outside on the stream, I wore them until the felt wore out , very good boot

Great wading boot to pair with waders
The Frogg Toggs Hellbender wading boots have been excellent. I ordered one size up to accommodate my wading pants with built-in neoprene booties, and the fit is perfect. Recommend wearing a thin wicking sock beneath your waders to prevent chafing. The lugged soles offer great grip, and the lacing system is quick and easyโthese boots go on and off without hassle. Iโve used them for kayak fishing in Florida over the past year, and theyโve held up very well. My feet stay warm and dry, even in wet or cooler conditions. Surprisingly, even during Florida summers when I wear them with wading pants in rainy weather, Iโve had no issues with my feet getting too hot. I love these boots and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, comfortable wading footwear.

Not the cheapest boot, but happy so far.
I have purchased the rubber sole option and am quite happy with them. I have added tungsten studs in the locations marked on the sole for extra security. Laces are plenty long enough and the boot comes high enough up the ankle to give firm support. Many waders have a hook on the gravel guard, but there is nowhere specifically to catch the hook onto with this boot, so clipping onto the laces is the only option - not ideal and may be a future improvement in design for the manufacturers. Not the cheapest boot out there, but Iโm happy with the purchase โฆso far. Update after 9 outings: Not good. Donโt buy. Nuff said!

Fantastic value for money wading boots.
These boots exceeded my expectations. Having just returned from 2 weeks fishing in Irish Lough's I can thoroughly recommend them. They are extremely comfortable compared to my old wading boots and for under ยฃ50 they are an absolute bargain,

Great First Impression...
Received these wading boots a week ago and first impressions are very good. They appear solidly constructed; far better than my old Bass Pro boots which lasted years. I am expecting good things and longevity from these as well. Tried them on with my waders and they are not only comfortable but fit true to size. Nice cleated sole which accepted studs very easily. I have used # 10 X 3/8" plated steel Hex-head screws forever to stud wading boots and found them to be a cheap and effective solution to ANY slippery surface. Looking forward to updating this review once I have had an opportunity to try the boots on-stream. After having used these wading boots several times, my only complaint is that the soles do not hold the stainless steel hex screws that I use for studs; constantly loosing them. Not at all a deal breaker; boots are solid and comfy nonetheless. Using slip on traction aids; no problem.
