Do not buy the combo. The T3000 router is utter trash.
Why did you choose this product over others?: DO NOT PURCHASE THIS COMBO. The T3000 router is absolute garbage. I expect mine is faulty - it takes close t 10 minutes to assign an i.p. address over DHCP, so most devices time out. I can get around this with devices that allow me to set a manual i.p. but that counts out most smart home devices. Throwing good money after bad I attempted to add an additional access point over ethernet but the router also seems to refuse to actually route internet to it's ethernet ports... I can connect to the router itself but no internet. One problem after the next. I contacted ZTE about this and they fobbed me off to their 'technical team' who have not responded in over a week. I have been forced to replace the router with one that actually works. The 5G modem is good, but do not buy the bundle. The modem is a class-leading product, the modem is a cheap poc.

T3000 Router not very functional: MC889 Signal Booster Good
This package comes in two parts: The new ZTE T3000 Router and the ZTE MC889 4G/5G mobile telephony signal booster. I was decidedly unimpressed with the T3000 router. Huge missing function, and what there is is very tedious to configure. I couid not get it to talk to my existing PPoE provider. Don't even think about using it as your main router. Instead, use it as an interface to a Cable Modem or Mobile Internet to which your existing router can talk. It claims to support WiFi6, but I think one should only use this to connect to another router which aslo supports WiFi6 when the T3000 is connected to Fibre or Mobile WiFi. Much more imprressive was the MC889 Telephony 4G/5G signal booster. Inside, I can only get a feeble 4G signal, and all of 5Mbps as the data connection. Using this booster inside , I got an impressive 50Mbps throughput. Hence, when 5G mobile telephony arrives, I'm looking forward to a massive throughput increase. Now, it may be that this signal boost only happened with the T3000 router - and that may be the only user case I'd be happy with (usage of the T3000 router in bridge mode). I'd recommend trying/buying the MC889 signal booster by itself. If you are in a bad 4G signal area without fibre and being miles away from an Openreach Cabinet, this might be your solution. Indeed, if you go for a VOIP landline, then this device might enable you to junk a POTS landline and save a lot of money (as a cheap unlimited Data Sim can be had for a lot less than Openreach-based connections). I guess I'm also saying that if you have a dodgey 5G signal, then the MC889 booster may be what you need. If I'd bought the T3000 router seperately from the MC889 Boostter, then I'd be sending the router back.

Decent item.. make sure your sim allows use in a router as you will get fair usage capped
So i recently reviewed this item and was very unhappy with it i stated that every so often id loose internet connectivity now i have since deleted my last neg review to replace it with this one… So first thing do not use a voxi sim in this item as although it will accept it and work voxi themselves will cut your internet on what i assume is fair use policy (hence why i was having connectivity problems it was not this item it was voxy my sim provider) O have since gone to smarty who have told me my sim will be fine used in a router.. So now to review the actual item.. The outdoor modem seems really good quality and is up on my roof pointing where it needs to be giving me 5g home internet that is running all my devices without any problems… The actual router again is decent and gives me no problems.. The only problem i have with this item is the zte app its rubbish always logs You out and you cant seem to store both your modem and your router in the app to log into each separately to go into admin pages… You have the option to add both devices and save the passwords but they just don't stay.. So ive deleted the app as its trash and just have a bookmark (so you type the ip of either the outdoor modem or the router into a webpage address bar hit enter) on any device connected to your wifi type the ADMIN password usually on the router or modem and that logs you into the router or modem with a better ui and more options and works fine for me toms better than the app. Also the signal finder app that helps you locate the best / strongest signal looks like a good app but it seems when you find a strong signal it then goes poor quickly and its just hard finding a decent signal with the app… But other than that the actual modem and router are brilliant and since realising the problem i was having was with the network provider and not the hardware its self this item has proved to be a solid problem free purchase… Edit. I have since moved this out door modem to inside my loft as i could get it higher up than on the side of my house where i did have it.. Ive got a much better upload and download speed not exactly because it is inside the loft but because its now higher up than it previously was. So unless you can get on your roof to get this to the highest point you can for best line of sight to your nearest tower then maybe consider a loft installation.. it worked for me.. I can now pull download speeds of around 438mbps download and about 61mbps upload with a ping of around 25ms on my smarty sim. Its an improvement from the old location half way up on the outside of my house.

Quality 5G Hub and router.
High quality 5G CPE WITH Router, now I reach a reasonable speed up to 319 MB and wifi signal covers the whole house, also it has the App ZTE installer help which will guide you to the best signal direction. UPDATE AFTER 6 MONTHS OF USE the router started developing disconnection at least once a week, lowered speed (60-100 mb instead 300), I was expecting to live for at least 1 year, also no support, It is not recommended

Disappointed
Worked fine for 2 months, just enough for the return period to end. After 2 months the antena stopped working if one of the connected devices has vpn. Unusable if working from home over vpn.

Keeps disconnecting so no wifi
I am returning this product as it keeps on losing connection I thought this would be the answer to my slow home broadband so cancelled my internet and now looks I have to go back due to the unreliability of this product Which is unfortunate
