Looked at a lot of reviews before deciding on these...the came within 3 days of ordering and so far have been used 3 times on our very icy foreshore. Complete confidence with them on, and fine walking over the road with them (no ice on it). Not as hard to fit as some reviewers found, in fact very straightforward. They do not slip or move on the footwear and hopefully I will not fall again this year and tear my ligaments. As to longevity, I shall have to wait and see, but they feel as though they will last quite a while.Good buy and excellent service.

I ordered these and they arrived less than two days later - 24 December - typical efficient Amazon.I am size 11 and got large, which are a good fit. I have used them with two pairs of Doc Martens and found them great. You need a rigid-soled shoe because of the strength of the rubber.You have to be careful fitting them - I found on a walk of about a mile they began to come off, but I think that was because I was walking on two sorts of snow (it was along a road) - but once they're on they don't come off, though they might work themselves round. It's fairly easy to sort them out, even so.They're at their best on compacted snow and ice. They're okay on fresh snow, but don't offer as much advantage. But on compacted snow - wow! You can stride as if it were midsummer. They're almost as good on ice, but you have to take care if the ice isn't level.

As someone who has had the misfortune of having a nasty injury as a result of slipping on ice I am naturally quite wary of walking outside in particularly bad weather (which is rather unfortunate, given the UK's tendency to attract inclement weather!).WIth the recent spate of ice and snow, I decided to investigate and see if there was a practical solution which would make walking in icy conditions safer, and after several weeks of testing, the Yaktrax 'Pro' has exceeded my expectations.How does it work? The Yaktrax 'Pro' device is 'strapped' onto the sole of your shoe, meaning that its coils touch the ground directly and create extra grip. It takes a bit of getting used to, realising you aren't walking directly on the ground, but once you are used to the slightly different experience, you really do begin to notice the benefits (that is, of course to say that you shouldn't wear the device when it isn't needed - otherwise you might find it to be somewhat counterproductive!).A big benefit to this product is that the device uses a steel 'coil' to create grip, rather than many competing products which use 'spikes' (or in some cases, something that isn't too dissimilar to a nail!) - not only is this much easier to handle as there is no sharps, it means the product can be stored more easily, so it can fit in a bag without damaging the contents. To further aid storage, the device itself folds in half.Of course, with all things good, there is always a downside, but so far in over a month of usage, I've only found a slight 'niggle'- as the product is made of a rather thick rubber type material it is somewhat 'stiff' and therefore it can take quite a bit of pressure to get it on your shoes! After time this does become a bit easier, but a little patience is required!

Last year there was a period of around three straight months where I couldn't walk out of my door without stepping onto a sheet of solid ice. It got so bad that I had to make a pact with some friends that when one of us inevitably fell flat on our back in the middle of the street, instead of leaping back to our feet and pretending it hadn't happened, we had to lie on the floor, wave our arms about and shout "Help me! I'm spinning!"Determined not to be caught out this year I purchased this product on the recommendation of a friend, ready for all that Winter could throw at me.These grips are easy to fit to my shoes (unlike some awful elasticated spikey things that I used to own, which shot off my boot one evening and impaled themselves onto my kitchen door). As a bonus, these have a securing strap that goes across the top of the foot.Most importantly, the thing that impresses me most is their effect on the weather - since buying these I haven't seen one single trace of snow or ice. Last year I couldn't walk five paces without getting covered from head to foot with snow. Every morning I arrived at work looking like the abominable snow man. This year...nothing.I'm utterly convinced that my purchase of these Yaktrax has caused a radical shift in the weather patterns of the North West of England. Based on the evidence to hand, in October of 2014 I'm going to buy myself some wellington boots or perhaps a snorkel and some flippers in an attempt to make the Winter of 2014-2015 the driest since records began.

I bought this product after getting fed up of walking gingerly in the snow and ice. I'm glad that I bought the Yaktrax Pro Traction Device. They are really easy to fit and use. I've used them on Lowa Walking boots and on Merrell Moab trainers with no problems.After a while you dont even notice them. Being able to stride out in the winter is fun again. Should of bought them a long time ago. I'd recommend these to all ages. Kids walking to School, The OAP needing to go to the shops, Dog walkers, the daily person that needs to walk to work or the weekend walker.I have seen comments about running in them but have not tried that yet. You notice the differents as soon as you but them on and start walking in the snow so I'd say running would not be a problem.

Useless. Repeatedly the front pops up over the front of my boots.

Really pleased with these, and used them the next day and several days afterwards due to living at the end of a long, snowy, icy lane! Feel very safe in them. In fact I reckon the delivery driver must have been wearing a pair as well, not only did he manage to drive partially down the lane, but he had to walk/slither the last 200m in the dark!! Definitely above and beyond!! Would definitely recommend these.

Out of the packet they were fairly easy to put on if you did not try to fit them with your boots already on! Care had to be taken to try and get the "gripper springs" aligned in that you were not putting the exposed rubber sections on the tread. You need to make sure that the rubber is between the treads and not on them. Best check before use each time. I used the Yaks successfully on numerous occasions but when I changed my boots from North Face to Berghaus I was constantly trying to ensure that I was not walking on the rubber and ultimately two of the rubber sections snapped. To some extent their longevity depends upon luck of what boots you were wearing. This could readily be overcome by the manufacturer by just having longer sections of "spring" and avoid the rubber being stood upon.But in use they are effective in maintaining a good grip on ice and compacted snow. You even have a little "bounce" in walking upon pavements whilst clearing snow. Even coming briefly inside whilst wearing them I presume you will not damage your flooring but be aware that if the springs unravel a little and the sharp ends will scratch your wooden floor.I've only had the Yaktracs since December and hoped for them to last longer than they have.

Une fois mis en place, on peut marcher normalement. Une fois arrivé, on les mets dans une poche et ils sont rangés.Il faut cependant bien les placer, sans quoi, en marchant sur les parties sans metal, on peut abîmer la structure en caoutchouc.Petit bémol par contre, sur les endroits sans neige, quand c’est un sol dur et lisse (grands pavés, marbre ou carrelage), comme la semelle de la chaussure ne touche pas le sol, ça glisse un peu.Mais ça reste moins que ce qu’on risque en marchant sur neige.Donc, on très bon produit.

Just received my Yaktrax Pro (US Men's 11, Large) and did a quick indoor test—very impressed. Compared to the Yaktrax Run, the Pro feels more heavy-duty and easier to put on while sitting. It wraps securely around my wide boots and disappears into my stride—hardly noticeable while walking on carpet.While the Run model seems to have slightly more grip, the Pro offers serious durability and comfort. The rubber is thick and robust, and the strap adds extra security. Note: the Pro model doesn’t have right/left foot markings, but the fit is symmetrical and intuitive.Based on my experience, when the seller is Amazon, it’s 100% guaranteed original. Mine came in the official box with an instruction card—everything felt premium and authentic.Haven’t tested on snow yet, but so far, it’s a solid investment in winter safety. These are my favourite traction aids. They are relatively easy to put on (once you get the left and right sorted out) and the velcro straps keep them in place. I have worn these running, walking, snow shovelling and spreading de-icer on the driveway. I've recommended these to first responders, friends, seniors, colleagues and anyone who notices them. They do eventually wear out (the rubber weakens and cracks) and the coils rust (salt and other de-icer chemicals on roads and sidewalks. However, 2 - 3 winters of nearly daily use for chores and dog walking can be expected. Thats a few cents for each day of use.

Definitely not heavy duty. I bought a pair for a trip to Iceland. The rubber webbing broke in two places on first use. Only suitable for smooth ice in urban settings.
