Nice spin-off for Devin's character from the Blue Eye Trilogy
This book is a good follow-on to the Blue Eyes Trilogy in that it follows Devin's adventure post Arianna and immerses the reader in a whole new level for the paranormal world imagined by the author. While it can be read as a stand alone series most readers will get more out of the story and its characters if they are familiar with the Blue Eyes Trilogy. I may have rated this less if I hadn't read the other first, but since I did it certainly helped lift this spin off story to a higher rating.Devin is finally brought into a more developed character, one not strictly focused on duty and service. It's nice to see this personal side where he allows himself to feel. There are a few quirky and slightly immature things about Nessa, but over all she's still likeable. This book has a few twists as it builds into the foundation for the series and although the ending sets up the next book in the series, it brings enough closure to the storyline of this first part to satisfy a reader.

thoughts on the day human prince
Received in exchange for a honest review. This is a great beginning to this trilogy. The characters are likable and some you really root against. Maureen is one that rubs the wrong way. Devin I loved. He was down to earth and real. Very perceptive. What made this fun was that Devin and Nessa start out annoying one another and end up respecting each other and being what the other needs. For Devin he starts out lost. His love and one he protects is now with someone and he is without a station. He has friends but no longer feels he belongs in his home or what is now his former home. When he gets injured and Nessa binds herself to him his world changes. Now he is off to the Sidhe world to get unbound. Along the way danger lurks and assassination attempts are galore throughout the book. These two start out just tolerating each other but as they learn about each other and Devin is called upon more and more to protect Nessa things slowly change. He begins to love her. Love her mind, wit, her caring self and how she truly sees good in everyone. Her love of family and her loyalty to her people all turn his mind around and have him open his heart to her. He didn’t intend to love again but as he is trying to save Nessa and find a way to be unbound this is what happens. Nessa always felt something for Devin but him being a Day human put it to the side. Now she sees just how special he is and he is special. He’s caring and kind. Fierce and loyal. He is her rock when she needs it and when dealing with the politics of her people she needs someone and he is it.I love the slow build up of a relationship between them. I love how they build a friendship and mutual respect. How they listen to each other and learn from one another. I love watching them both protect one another and seeing that they will do whatever is needed for the other. They would sacrifice for each other. The plot is great as well. How we have danger around every corner and these two navigate the rough terrain with a fun retorting way. Devin is patient and kind throughout but fierce when needed. The ending wow just wow not expecting that. This is the story of Devin finding his place by the woman he loves as he finds love again, helps keep her alive and has her see him in a different light. This is the story of Nessa finding a partner in everything and becoming the ruler she is meant to be. This is the story of a group of people and how they fight one another for power and try to kill for it as well. A story about family, loyalty love and power.

Interesting and action packed!
First, this is the second book in a series, which I have not read any of the others. It makes it a bit more complicated but not too hard to follow. It is a very different vampire type tale, with lots of supernatural elements! Enough to charm any fantasy fan! Good read!

Intriguing Read
I got this book for free from BookBub, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It turns out that I really enjoyed it. There was mystery and suspense and Kristin had readers rooting for the heroine from the get go. A fun series. At times it was a bit predictable, but not annoyingly so. I did try to buy the Carnelian book that has a sample at the end, but Amazon will only let me download the sample.

Another Awesome Trilogy Begins
B. Kristin McMichael has done it again! I have spent the last 24 hours captured in this story. (Thank God for Sundays.)No lull in the excitement with love in the air and hidden assasins everywhere! Another ending I didn't see coming and another few moments spent drying my tears.I spend my summers reading about mermaids. I am in awe of this author and now bound by my imagination to read everything she has written. The mermaids will umderstand.

Enjoyable Fantasy Quest
True-hearted heroine and her stalwart yet unintended protector fight invisible assassins and political machinations of those she trusted since childhood. Some might despair at the lack of detail about the various categories of beings in the book, but it didn’t take away from the action adventure for me.

Wonderful!
A new twist on people of the night and the dark sidhe! It was page turning to find out what was around the corner for Nessa and her Day Human! Looking forward to the next chapter.

Don't miss this book!
Great book. LOVED the two main characters. Great adventures with a some really good twists and turns! I actually did not read the whole Blue Eyes Trilogy just this last book. The author does a great job with descriptions and the story is a fairly original one! I can't wait for the next book in the series!! :)

Liked it.
I enjoyed The Blue Eyes Trilogy and The Day Human Prince was a clever way of giving Devin his own story.I didn't feel quite connected to most of the characters. I could still relate to Devin and only up to a point with Nessa. Devin managed to take Nessa back to the Sidhe. There was quite a lot of deceipt and betrayal with some twists and turns. It became quite interesting as the story developed.I won't throw in any spoilers but I would recommend this novel to those who enjoyed reading The Blue Eyes Trilogy.

Good spin off from the original series
If you enjoyed the 'Blue Eyes' trilogy you will almost certainly enjoy this spin off continuation which centres very much around Devin and the ultra devious Fae. As the story progresses the penchant of the fairie folk for not telling the truth and distorting everything else becomes a constant theme. Mostly well written and with good characters and a decent plot, worth reading.

Predictable, but nice read regardless
The story was well developed and let the characters take their own pace to get into shape. However, more often than not was the next step too obvious, or the hint from the author too much of a "punch in the face" rather than a subtle hint.It is good to know the story "before" to understand the struggles Devin goes through; all in all though, it is a faszinating read and keeps you rather in the book than checking your emails.I wished for more depth, more charismatic characters, and maybe even a bit more of "the usual fae" as we know them from the general writing, and of course from J.R. Tolkin. But it seems that these guys age just as we do - how disappointing.Anyways - read the books before (the Night humans), then read these 3 books, and you will feel... content. I liked it, and I am a guy, sooo - what can be wrong then, huh?
