It does attract yellow jacket bees when put in the trap these are designed for. Since they don’t know how to get out, they die. The solution only attracts them to the trap from what I experienced.

Effective and works just about instantly. Every time I use this yellow jackets show up fast to the traps. I put the traps a bit further way from where people are. I am a bee keeper too and these don't attract honey bees but help keep the yellow jackets away from my bees. Yellow jackets will attack honey bees and try to rob their hives. The smell is pretty potent and you don't want to get it on your hand or clothes.

I keep buying these to catch yellowjackets, but I might have to take advice from neighbors and just stick a chicken wing bone instead. Maybe the ones I got before were expired. It's hit or miss...or the yellowjackets are going for them anymore.

This year has been the worst yet for yellow jackets for some reason in my Northern California city, but this attractant in the Rescue hornet trap caught a lot of them so now I can go outside without being bothered by them. I used four traps on my property and all were filled like in the photo I have provided. The first few days didn't catch many, but then suddenly the traps began to fill rapidly with the nasty buggers! I will be using this attractant from now on.
