One of the best natural sweeteners available. Just IDEAL.
If you are looking for a natural sweetener, and stevia changes the taste, or has a mild bitter aftertaste to you, than xylitol can be a good option. And among the many xylitol options IDEAL is the best for our family. Other xylitol products may cause stomach discomfort (which is not uncommon for sugar alcohols in general). But not with IDEAL Sweetener. Perhaps it is in how the manufacturer sources the xylitol, or how it is manufactured and mixed with a bit of sucralose? We've not experienced stomach discomfort, and we use it just like sugar. Xylitol has none of the bad effects of sugar. For example, sugar has a glycemic index of anywhere from 85 to 100, but xylitol only 7; an important benefit for people with diabetes. Also, xylitol helps protect teeth. While sugar does the opposite. Xylitol is found in fruits and vegetables, and even made by the human body; thus the claim to it being natural. (99% natural for the IDEAL brand, since the manufacturer does in fact add a bit of sucralose. Perhaps this is why, in our experience, the IDEAL version of xylitol is far better tolerated than the 100% xylitol brands at health stores.)We have a 6 year old at home, and we don't want her exposed to too much sugar, or even artificial sweeteners. There are several stevia brands now that could have been good natural sweetener options for us, but a few of us in the household detect a mild bitter aftertaste. So xylitol is our "go-to" natural sweetener, and IDEAL is our favorite brand. It goes with almost anything that needs sugar, and cooks/bakes well. (Depending on the cooking/baking project, sometimes 100% substitution works, but more often, not. Thus, when cooking/baking with it, try first at 75% sugar + 25% IDEAL. If successful, see if 66/33 works, and then 50/50% sugar and IDEAL. And so on. For most of our cooking/baking projects, most can't tell that we substituted up to half of the sugar with IDEAL.) Our next project is to try making ice-cream with 100% IDEAL instead of sugar. It is unfortunate that Stop & Shop does not carry it. And A&P used to, but stopped making it available. So, we buy from Amazon.

AMAZING!
This stuff is so amazing!!!!I decided to start eating fewer carbs in my diet, but every so often I get a craving for a tasty dessert. Mind you, I cannot STAND most artificial sweeteners. I hate diet soda, I can't stand sugar free candies, you name it. But with so many awesome reviews I decided to try this one and it has really made the whole low carb thing so much easier!!!I made some pumpkin gooey cake using this instead of sugar (and with carbalose flour + ground almond instead of the regular flour) and it is the best tasting sugar free low carb dessert I've ever had. It seriously tastes LEGIT! I really enjoy baking too and haven't been doing it as much because of the lower carb lifestyle now, but now with this Ideal sweetener my low carb baking arsenal is complete muwahahaha.I can see how some people might view the packaging as misleading because It does have some carbs, so it isn't like you can go wild with it and gorge yourself on it. It contributed 10g of carbs per serving to the gooey cake I made, which to me is minimal for how freaking delicious and "real" tasting it was. Really perfect for a treat once in a while and to curb occasional cravings!Downside: way more expensive cup for cup than sugar. But, like I said, it is more of a means to have an occasional treat and not feel deprived. Plus it looks like Amazon is now selling it in packs of 6 for 57 bucks so it is way cheaper per bag that way.Really highly recommend this over any other sugar substitute I have tried!*edit: I am not diabetic so maybe take this with a grain of salt if you are, but I got a blood glucose kit to test out different foods that claim to be low carb etc. Whenever I try out a product marketed "super awesome sugar free low carb" I test it out just in case it is a gimmick. four hours after I ate my pumpkin gooey cake my blood glucose was only up 2 points. I am pretty convinced that this is legit :)

Best tasting - taste the closest to real sugar
Hands down the best tasting xylitol on the market. Has the most realistic taste without being overly sweet or you know how sometimes you cant even tell the fake sugar has even been used. I put it in my coffee sprinkle on fruit and even bake with it. No bitter after taste none of that . I find it can be hard to find to buy so I hope Amazon continues to sell .Only brand I want to buy from now on.

Good Product, but Understand What it Actually Is
I'm not sure what's going on with this company. They seem to have some distribution issues. It is sometimes available at my local Meijer, but this is very sporadic. In my opinion, this is the best sugar alternative out there with low calories, but consumers should be aware of what it really is. If you research Xylitol, it's a great natural sugar alternative with health benefits and no aftertaste. I buy this on Amazon as well as at the local health food store to cut down on my regular sugar intake. It has no aftertaste and tastes just like sugar. Some say it's slightly less sweet than sugar, which may be true, but you can just add a bit more. Ideal uses Xylitol as its base and then adds Splenda to it, which is basically sugar bombarded with Chlorine. They do this for two reasons: (1) to add the extra sweetness that some claim pure Xylitol lacks and (2) so they can make the claim of 0 calories. Pure Xylitol has minimal calories (10 per teaspoon). Ideal can get away with saying their product has 0 calories by adding sucralose (Splenda), it reduces the calories to a low enough amount where they can legally claim it is 0, but it's 0 based on a single serving; so it actually does have calories that could add up.I do notice a chemical aftertaste with Ideal due to the added sucralose, but it is typically mild. If you don't mind the few extra calories, I'd recommend pure Xylitol before I'd recommend Ideal, but Ideal is probably one of the best sugar alternatives on the market after just buy pure Xylitol; just beware that they do add Splenda (sucralose).

Great sugar alternative, awesome taste.
When used for baking it gives almost no weird tastes. It's my favourite sweetener I've tried yet out of monk, stevia, etc. Xylitol is the first ingredient, but unfortunately also has corn maltodextrin (just a flavourless filler to make it 1:1 with sugar) and sucralose. It is a very fine powder, almost like powdered sugar. Highly recommend for baking. Obviously eating it plain, or sprinkling it on things still tastes weird.

Great for baking
It’s too bad that all alternative sugar is so expensive. That being said, this sweetener did exactly as advertised. It is the best that I’ve used for baking.
