Game changer, why didn't someone tell me!!!
The Backstory: I first started using henna 10 years ago, then because I heard it was strengthening to the hair, later to cover emerging grays. I bought the henna from my local health store and dreaded everytime i went to use it. I could deal with the mess of application and the 'henna drip' once applied, but the drama getting the stuff out of my African 4c hair was stressful and damaging to my hair. The bits of twigs and stones (yes!!) irritated my scalp and is rough on delicate African hair. It was taking me between 20 - 30 minutes just to rinse the henna out, that is a ridiculous amount of water and stress on the hair and it showed with the hair loss. I calculate that of all the henna I have bought in the last ten years I have thrown away two thirds of it, because it has expired before I could use it up as I was avoiding using it, and there was no way I would risk using henna less effective for the same amount of labour. I started using hair dye (herbal, less damaging, but with peroxide none the less) and the ease was such that henna looked like a thing of the past, until on one occasion I noticed alot of tiny broken pieces of hair while rinsing out the dye and for weeks after. I decided to give henna one last try and investigate this Body Art Quality, because in reviews no one complained about rinsing it out. Product Review: Cue my ordering 100g of Davis Finest Red Henna. From decanting and mixing with lemon juice all the lumps indicated I was dealing with a product of a different calibre, the henna powder was superfine. 24 hours later when I went to apply, all the lumps disappeared. The paste was a goey texture, really easy for me to handle, and took to my hair like a dream. No irritation to the scalp, no 'bits, 'no stones; nothing. Yet, I was worried. 10 hours later (I slept in the henna) I couldn't wait to get the henna out of my hair, one of my last experiences one year ago (health food store henna) matted and took out considerable chunks of my hair. My head hanging over the bath, shower head in hand, nothing but coloured water leaves my hair, no twigs, no stones, no seeds, no sand, nothing but coloured water, barely any hair, barely ANY hair. I think it took 5 minutes to get the water out of my hair which is between 5 and 8 inches in length. I WAS SHOOK. I AM SHOOK A mild, pleasant red has taken already to my grays, and I applied indigo afterwards. This was thee most enjoyable (!) and rewarding hair care experience I have had, let alone henna experience. This product is a must, the quality is superb.

I love it. ♡ Worked well with my hair.
I love it! ♡ ♡ ♡ I had no idea what to expect but I got great result! See the photos. My hair is soft and shiny. I do believe it works different on different types of hair, but it's the same with non-natural colours so can't complain. :) I dont think I will ever go back to chemicals! 1. Mixed it with lemon juice and water (1:1) and left for about 5 hours 2. Applied the henna. It was a bit messy but it's the nature of the product :) 3. Washed it out with a shampoo after 3 hours. 4. Next day I mixed the indigo powder and applied it straight away. 5. Washed it out after 3 hours. THE COLOUR ♡ I love it and looking forward to the next colouring THE HAIR ♡ It's super soft now. I don't need to use conditioner anymore. This suprised me positevely. THE SMELL ♡ After few washes my hair still smells like a mix of tea and shampoo but I like the smell. :D Some people said it smells awful. I dont think so. Smells like a morning tea to me and not unpleasant at all :) APPLICATION ◇ Pretty messy and time consumptive but it is what it is... :) at least it's 100% natural. So I can't actually complain! ♡ Even though I found the indigo a bit messier. :D Easier to wash out of the skin than chemicals. I was a bit worried when I saw how green it is as I did not know what to expect 😆 You get caps and spoer large nylon gloves in both packs but I used my gloves :D Thanks for reading ♡ I hope you find my review useful and keep in mind your hair type might be different. 😊

Really good
I ordered this henna as i was looking for a way to continue dying my hair with organic products. It arrived really quickly and the company emailed to check I got the delivery ok. Personally I prefer darker henna so I mixed it with coffee. The result was great. Dark red. Exactly what I was looking for. The hair texture after applying is great too. I'm giving it 4 stars for two reasons. The packaging was not clearly labelled so you couldn't read the ingredients directly, however they are available on the website. The other slight criticism is the powder is very fine and it tends to stick in blobs which makes it tricky to mix. I've found a way around it by breaking the blobs with a fork before mixing it. Otherwise it's excellent. Would definitely use this product again.

Amazing
I have been using henna for my black hair for more than 20 years. We do have very good organic henna in my mother country. I tried so many brands but never got the right product till I tried this one. With this of experience of using henna, from the first moment I opened this pack and smelled it, I knew this is a very good quality henna and definitely pure. When I mixed it and applied it, it gave me the same beautiful colour and smell to my hair. Im writing this review and sorting out my next order at the same time 🥰 Thank you very much.

Exceeded all expectations!!!
This was my first time dying my hair, that’s first ever, as well as first by myself, but we’re in quarantine so, why not? PREP: I mixed it last night, I was a bit hesitant and wanted to get the best result so I mixed it with red berry tea, which is meant to help enhance the red tones further. I wasn’t sure how thick to make it but I made it thick enough it stands (take a spoon, dip in and raise out, the spot where the spoon was should stand up) then watered it down a little bit more and left it overnight. TESTING: Highly recommend just in case, I did a strand test just behind my ear for a full 3 hours and also a patch test on the inside of my arm for allergens. The strand seemed good, and the patch didn’t react but left some orange staining (which washed off later on). GO TIME: I have a before picture and an after picture (please excuse the bad skin, quarantine hasn’t been kind to me). As you can see u have pretty long, dirty blonde hair with a bit of a natural ombré. I prepared: - coconut oil (or Vaseline/petroleum jelly if you’d rather) - the henna - clingfilm wrap - an old shirt - rubber gloves I applied the coconut oil along my hairline all around down to my neck, quite thickly, to help stop staining from any dripping onto my face. Then I put on the rubber gloves and starting with the hair at the front, I applied a good dollop to the scalp and massaged it into the strand going down to the ends of the hair, making sure to add more when I needed. I then curled this up on top of my head (pretty tricky give the length). I did this for the bits on the top-side, again layering into the centre and worked down the sides then round to the back. Once I’d got all my hair up I scraped the remaining henna out of the bowl and coated my hair with it, making sure to cover especially the back and sides to ensure they were thoroughly soaked. I then got the clingfilm and wrapped it around my head, going over my ears and lifting that up later. I then left it for 4 hours. I’ve read 2-3 is good, the longer the better and at 4-5 it can start irritating. When it was time, I unwrapped the clingfilm, stuck the gloves on and knelt over the shower carefully patting the water onto the henna to soften it until I could let my hair down and washed it out. Once the water was running quite clear I took the gloves off and shampooed my hair. This is okay because the Lawsons dyes fix permanently. After rinsing that out I got into the shower properly and rinsed and shampooed again and conditioned the ends. I wasn’t expecting it to go so red, or so vivid. I thought maybe it would pick up a slight tint or something, but this is insane and far outweighs my expectations and... I love it to no end!!! Will definitely buy again! P.S. it hasn’t allowed me to add photos, which is a crying shame!!

Worked well!
A hair emergency caused me to buy this! I’d dyed my hair ginger with a perm dye, and it had turned out yellow. I decided to try out henna because I didn’t want to Chuck yet more chemicals onto my hair to sort it out. The henna arrived quickly, and well packaged. I don’t know a lot about henna, so had to google a lot of what to do. It did come with instructions, but a lot of people seem to use it in different ways for different results. I wanted my hair to look more of a reddish ginger, and as that required me to go a bit darker, I used coffee to mix with the henna. Side note: the henna smelt AWFUL!! Honestly, it made me feel sick. I then left the mixture covered over night. I used it the next day. It was really messy, But no more so than a hair dye. 100mgs was MORE than enough to cover my long hair. I only used about half the mixture. I put cling film over my hair once I’d covered it, and left it for a few hours. Washing it off was a nightmare, it took about an hour to get it out, and I still found a clump of it left over after washing. Pretty sure it’s not recommended to shampoo it out, but I did. I couldn’t stand the smell lingering in my hair, and I was struggling to get it all out with just water. I also did condition after because my hair was so knotty after using it. The pictures are the end result. My hair is very patchy and damaged from years of bleach and dyes, so I was nervous how this would turn out. But It turned out pretty much how I wanted! It’s definitely darkened my hair a little, evened out the colour, and given me more of the red tint I wanted. Also my hair looks SO healthy!! Id highly recommend just trying it on a strand of hair first to check it will go the colour you want. I’m not sure I’d buy again. It was a lot of work, and I only really used it this one time to avoid re dyeing my hair so soon. But it did what I wanted it to do so I’m happy.

That glow in the sky? That’s my hair.
My naturally red hair has been fading slowly, and getting more dry. I bought this to stop looking like a vaguely ginger ashtray and it has definitely livened up the colour. My hair also looks glossier and feels smoother. I used half the pack, mixed it with warm water and the juice of 3 lemons, then let it sit overnight. I applied it in the morning (to my hair, neck, hands, toilet seat and floor) and left it for 4 hours. I nearly panic-washed it after 3 hours but held my nerve. It took ages to rinse out, and the day-glo strands on the bath gave me the fear. When I dried it I appreciated how soft and shiny it was. It’s bright. I don’t know if I can carry it off at this age. Young people - you’re going to love it! It’s a really shiny, glowy red/orange. Fellow middle-aged women: rinse it off after 2 hours. UPDATE AFTER A MONTH: The colour has lasted freakishly well. It hasn’t washed out or faded at all, so I’m now here with a bag on my head again, touching up the roots. I was scared of the colour at first but it turns out everyone loves it. This is now my favourite henna ever. Long-lasting, really conditioning, and a glorious colour.

Sehr gut
