Fit is (almost) everything
I thought to upgrade from my Wolfman enduro saddlebags with these which are a little larger. The webbing for mounting appears robust, but not of a configuration that I liked for my DRZ400. Additionally there are straps under the bags to secure accessories. I did not plan to use these and am concerned this low slung webbing might get snagged when riding single track. I could not bring myself to cut it off. The additional storage would have been useful (an extra 2 liters per side) as well as these bags being waterproof. I also thought that I would like the roly top ...... but not as much as I like zippers. I opted to keep my current saddlebags in service, but use water proof stuff bags inside. Easy access with a zip yet still dry with the stuff bags (I would have been using stuff bags anyway with the waterproof bags).

Dual sport bikes are not the same as adventure bikes.
Great quality for sure, not for adventure bikes. Or at least I couldn’t fit them.It does say dual sport bikes in the description which have much more narrow seats. Ended up returning them. Not their fault, mine.

Old vs need
I purchased both the newer and oder version dual sport saddlebag, both are 5 star, pro for the newer is larger, has more straps on top and bottom to increase storage, waterproof material, semi like there good for larger dual sport adventure riders, haven't used them yet, the older version to me seem a lot more durable better for long day trips, there not water proof but the pretty good at water resistant, I really like the design, I keep the expanding section unzipped all the time because the straps do tight everything closed to the bike, I have the older version on a bike in Colorado and have used them on day trips of gnarly rough terrain without any problems, so don't count the old version off your list there priced good

Maybe not small bike compatible
Read lots of reviews and researched these thoroughly to ensure they’d fit a KTM 390 Adventure. Watched the install video several times after purchase and developed some reticence about my purchase but, took them out on a two-day ride. Kept them light with clothing and a pair of shoes. Was very upset when one pannier came into contact with the rear tire and bore a hole into the inside bottom of the pannier. Would not recommend these for smaller bikes without a rear rack to prevent tire contact.

These bags hold more stuff then they look..
I really like the size of the bags when going lite. They are not easy to install the first time, but after a few times they are much easier. Just follow instructions on the videos and they do work very well. I do appreciate the one way valve that lets you squeeze the access air out. They seem water proof… I’ve not been caught in a down pour but so far they have been good in light rain. I did add a heat shield on my exhaust… I do recommend these Nelson Riggs bags.

Bags worked well on the Triumph Street Triple
Only 4 stars because the the side connection straps could have been a couple inches longer. Other end was extra long. Made it work but needed pliers to pull straps tight. Second set of Nelson Riggs saddle bags. 2 different models. Like that these are water proof. Do take a little time to get in and out of due to multiple straps crossing over the top. On a trip, be patient.

Just what I was looking for.
Tested on road, off-road and in any weather Colorado could throw at me. Even bumped the bike a few times, these do not disappoint. Unless you want more room.....minus my tent and sleeping bag these fit my extra tube, tools, and have enough room for 3 days worth of backpacking gear, water, food and clothes. I wanted to pack light and keep the weight close to the bike so these were perfect, and look good too.
