[Apple MFI Certified] Xcomm UData 16GB Mobile Flash Drive with Lightning connector For iPhones, iPads & Computers (Rose Gold/16G)

I have iPhone 6 Plus, running iOS 10 - it only recognized 3 photos out of the thousands I have on my phone - so it's pretty useless as to it's one job. I then tried in on my iPad mini 1st edition, which is running iOS 9 - same issue, same 3 pics.

Did not work with my iPad. Waste of my time and money.

I'd been wanting to get a flash drive for my Apple devices for a long time; but when they first came out they were way out of my price range. I wanted the ease of being able to transfer my photos and files from my iPad without having to connect to a PC. So when I was offered this one at a discounted price for my honest review, I didn't hesitate. I was a little upset at first because the estimated shipping date was going to be almost a month after I ordered it; but, happily, it arrived within a week.The first thing you have to do is download the 'Udata App' for the flash drive to work. No problem. I went to the App Store and searched for the 'Udata' app. I was told 'Udata app can not be found'. Not a good start. The written directions said you could search for the app or just plug in the flash drive and the app would automatically come up. It didn't. I went and got my iPad Mini and tried again. Again, 'no app found'. I'm getting really frustrated now; how can I use the flash drive if the app can't be found! I decided I didn't need this kind of hassle, so I put in for a return through Amazon. A short time later, a rep from the flash drive service department emailed me and advised me to search for the app under the 'iPhone only' apps (even though I was going to use it on an iPad, not an iPhone). But, I did as they suggested and the Udata App popped up. I downloaded it and was able to successfully transfer some photos from my iPad to the flash drive. The written directions that come with the flash drive leave a lot to be desired (written in English but grammatical errors make them difficult to understand at times). Playing around with the app and the device, I was able to figure out what I needed to know; but they don't make it easy. I got lost on the instructions for the 'Ubox' and the 'third party app' you apparently have to download for that. I wouldn't recommend this item if you are not 'computer savvy' or have a techy person available to help. As I mentioned earlier, I received this item at a discounted price for my honest review.

Good product if you only want to back up photos and videos taken thru the camera function. I guess I did not read or understand the product well enough before I purchased it. My intention was to store my purchased videos...actual movies on the drive so that I did not have to download from cloud all the time. But, as it is a good device, I am using it to back up my precious pictures on there. I have over 2,000 pictures on my phone and it seems to be downloading very quickly. The connector is long enough to snug up to my case with no problem.I plan to download the pictures from my computer to this drive...just did that, and I could not be more pleased! Everything important is saved! 😄The instructions included with the drive takes you to the app, and the app is not very clear..wish I could tell how much more storage I have.I purchased this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review

This product allows for the storage of music, pictures and other items that you would want to store on your iPhone but can't due to space limitations. I transferred music from my iTunes account directly to the drive and it went well. However, upon searching for the app in iTunes, nothing came up. When I plugged the device into my phone, a prompt did come up telling me that UData would like to access my phone (or something like that) and I allowed that and now I can see my music when I go to the flash drive.In my opinion, instructions should have been included, as the "app" is not easy to understand on its own. There is, however, a "setup" icon at the far right top corner of the UData screen and it has some really tiny, hard to read instructions.I do like that you can encrypt your files so that in the event you lose your drive, no one can access your files.One thing that I don't like is the design of the device, although I don't have recommendations on how else to design it. The device sticks out from the bottom of your device, so that makes it a bit difficult for me to use while working out, which is normally when I listen to music. It is still better than the alternative, which is nothing. Another thing that I don't like is that you cannot charge your phone while utilizing the device. therefore, if I am watching a movie stored on my device and my battery is about to die, there is nothing that I can do about it.I plan on using this drive when I travel internationally where a iCloud probably won't be accessible or would cost me to much to access anyway.The device has a cool, rich look to it and looks professional when attached to your phone.I recommend this product to others who are frustrated by the limited space capabilities of iPhones and other Apple products, such as iPads.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion and unbiased review on it.

Easy to use. Definitely saves pictures as it should with no problem. Only downfall is that you have to download an app. I would still recommend it because it's inexpensive and still apple certified. It's great for anyone who takes lots of pictures and wants to save them all without having to use some cloud service. I received this item at a discount in exchange for my review.
