Little do we know that as much as furniture, fixtures, and wood crafting products are a sight to behold, these pieces of art require so much time and careful effort, even in the hands of an expert artisan. The sad thing is that, despite the number of adhesive tapes made available in the market, nobody has ever made a specifically tailored tape for woodworkers. This is why woodworkers usually resort to carpet tapes or double-sided tapes and settle with whatever compromise the narrow choice offers them. But, XFasten isnโt just any other adhesive company. We reached out to several woodworkers on our social media outlets and asked them what they needed in a double-sided tape for woodworking. We then created the ultimate Wood Turnerโs Double-sided Woodworking Tape based on their wish list. Why Choose the XFasten Double-sided CNC Woodworkerโs Tape? โ STRONG AND RELIABLE ADHESIVE. Industrial grade adhesive on this double-sided woodworking tape for CNC machine is strong but not too much, such that it gives a stable and reliable hold on wood panels and templates. โ OPTIMAL THICKNESS THATโS EASY TO WORK WITH. Strong and stable adhesion allows the template to be held perfectly while the CNC machine or woodturner is running. Easy to peel off from the roll, cut, and transfer into wood templates and edges. โ RESIDUE-FREE and SURFACE-SAFE. It will not chip off or damage the delicate wood finish upon removal. Silicone-based adhesive allows the double-stick woodworking tape to be stable yet removable, EMPOWERING the AVERAGE AMERICAN WOODWORKER to produce NEAT PRO projects. โ PRIORITIZES SAFETY ESPECIALLY ON FAST-PACED PROJECTS. Not too thick or bulky, keeping your templateโs profile to a minimum while you are working on it. Its high-shear stress resistance and tensile strength allows the tape to hold boards firmly, preventing accidents even of fast operations.

Just the right hold for woodworking purposes
Double-sided tape is just the ticket for temporary fixturing in woodworking, say for setting a router guide strip or template, or ganging workpieces to allow cutting multiple to the same size, etc.Double-sided tape comes in quite a variety though and not all are suitable for this purpose. The key is good stick but also clean removal. The key for that is that the tape have some sort of binding layer that keeps it together during removal, and also the right adhesive. This tape gets both of those right with some sort of cloth binder in the tape that keeps it all in one piece during removal, and an adhesive that holds firmly, but removes cleanly without leaving any adhesive residue to interfere with further processing or finishing and also without pulling up any wood grain while you're at it.So far I've used this on hand-planed softwood (SPF) and it removes readily and absolutely cleanly. The hand-planing could be a factor since it produces an extremely smooth surface and leaves the grain firm. There could be variation on a rough-sawn or coarsely sanded surface like plywood, I suppose I'll find out. But so far, this tape is extremely satisfactory and leaves nothing to be desired.I would definitely do it again and recommend.

Good tape for woodworking
So far the tape seems to work well. Good hold and the silicone adhesive doesn't leave a residue on the wood and so far it hasn't pulled any wood fibers up either. Cloth backing is strong and prevents the tape from ripping when removing.

Okay
I purchased this for attaching small pieces of wood to my melamine thickness planer sled. It holds the wood firmly to the sled through the thickness planing process. However, applying it is difficult. The tape backing is too tough to tear by hand so each piece has to be cut. No dispenser comes with the tape to aid in cutting. If a knife or scissors are used, the result is sticky goo on the cutting tool. When removing wood from the planing sled, a very sharp, thin spatula as well as "elbow grease" is required. It leaves no residue on the wood or the melamine. Works great but too hard to use. Will use up and buy something else next time.
